God Scattered Israelites on Islands Around the World
Journal of Discourses 14:333; “Here let me say again, according to the Book of Mormon, many of those great islands that are found in the Indian Ocean, also in the great Pacific Sea, have been planted with colonies of Israelites. Do they not resemble each other? Go to the Sandwich Islands, to the South Sea Islands, to Japan‑‑go to the various islands of the Pacific Ocean, and you find a general resemblance in the characters and countenances of the people. Who are they? According to the Book of Mormon, Israelites were scattered forth from time to time, and colonies planted on these islands of the ocean.” – Orson Pratt, Salt Lake City, February 11, 1872

Earth Formed Out of Other Planets
Discourses of Joseph Smith, pg 265; “The world and earth are not synonymous terms. The world is the human family.—This earth was organized or formed out of other planets which were broken up and remodeled and made into one on which we live. The elements are eternal… In the translation “without form and void,” it should read, empty and desolate. The word created should be formed or organized. (Richards and Little, op. cit., p. 271.)”
Joshua 24:14-15; “Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

The Language of the Egyptians
Mosiah 1:4; “For it were not possible that our father, Lehi, could have remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children, except it were for the help of these plates; for he having been taught in the language of the Egyptians therefore he could read these engravings, and teach them to his children, that thereby they could teach them to their children, and so fulfilling the commandments of God, even down to this present time.”

Twelve Nephite Apostles
Latter-day Prophets & the D&C 1:101; “After Jesus had been crucified and had ascended unto his Father, he visited his “other sheep” in America, known as the Nephites, and there chose twelve disciples and organized his Church, as he had done among the Jews, an account of which is given in some detail in Third Nephi of the Book of Mormon. [3 Nephi 15:11-24.] (A Marvelous Work and a Wonder, 1950, pp. 51-52.)”

Furniture of the Temple 1
The verses that I’ve chosen to focus on during this word study are: John 19:30; “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” And also Gal. 2:21; “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”

April 19 – In Deut. 28:49 God said; “The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand.”

March 19 – Numbers 14:25; “(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley). To morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea”.
_____
Use this verse as a geography lesson for the Mormon. There has never been a river that empties into the Red Sea. It is surrounded by wilderness (desert) only.
_____
1 Nephi 2:8; “And it came to pass that he called the name of the river, Laman, and it emptied into the Red Sea; and the valley was in the borders near the mouth thereof.”
