Juvenile Instructor, Vol. 3, No. 20, October 15, 1868, pg 156-157; “The Negro Race. We understand that when God made man in his own image and pronounced him very good, that he made him white. We have no record of any of God’s favored servants being a black race. All His prophets and apostles belonged to the most handsome race on the face f the earth – Israel, who still, as represented in the scattered tribe of Judah, bear the impress of their former beauty. In this race was born His Son Jesus, who, we are told was very lovely, and “in the express image of his Father’s person,” and every angel who ever brought a message of God’s mercy to man was beautiful to look upon, clad in the purest white and with a countenance bright as the noonday sun.
…Their skin is quite black, their hair woolly and black, their intelligence stunted, and they appear never to have arisen from the most savage state of barbarism.”
Jacob 2:21; “Do ye not suppose that such things are abominable unto him who created all flesh? And the one being is as precious in his sight as the other. And all flesh is of the dust; and for the selfsame end hath he created them, that they should keep his commandments and glorify him forever.”
1 Samuel 16:7; “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”
So even though you’re white or black or short or tall, it doesn’t matter all that much to the Lord. What matters is what’s going on inside. Isn’t it interesting that Mormons won’t rely on the New Testament for much of their belief and won’t acknowledge the Old Testament either. If they had paid attention to the whole thing they would’ve seen what God said to Samuel.
How do they explain the verse from Jacob in the Book of Mormon? Not only do they not believe man was created from the dust, they’ve gone out of their way to not follow the words of their beloved canon.
Where in the Bible does it say the Israelites were/are white? And where in the Bible does it say God the Father is white or that Jesus was white?
Can non-whites get into heaven? Are the rules different for them than white people?
