May 25 — Better Off Dead Than Excommunicated. Miracle of Forgiveness, pp. 162-163 “Excommunication. The scriptures speak of Church members being “cast out” or “cut off,” or having their names “blotted out.” This means excommunication. This dread action means the total severance of the individual from the Church.
The person who is excommunicated loses his membership in the Church and all attendant blessings. As an excommunicant, he is in a worse situation than he was before he joined the Church. …
This is about the saddest thing which could happen to an individual. Better that he suffer poverty, persecution, sickness, and even death. A true Latter-day Saint would far prefer to see a loved one in his bier than excommunicated from the Church…” — Spencer W. Kimball

Romans 3:13 “Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips”.

The Lord never likes it when someone dies so why would a so-called man of God say such a thing?
Ezekiel 18:32 “For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.”
If someone has to be disciplined in a Christian church setting, I can’t think of a church that’d think or say these things.
This is a sign of a cult, and we pray that Mormons will see things like this and run away fast! Kimball said this in 1969 and tomorrow we’ll see how they’re still saying the same type of thing years later.
Please, don’t forget to pray for these dear people. Many in the Church like my mother still look up to Kimball and have no problem with the things he said.

Cut off from God is the worse thing not excommunicated. The best thing would be to get excommunicated and run to the Jesus of the bible. It’s so sad what they tell their members. Prayers for all Mormons. They try to scare them to stay in their cult and some run from Jesus and the cult.

Unfortunately you’re right. Sigh…
I don’t remember if I posted my article about the book previously, but here’s a link to the artilce I wrote about various issues with this book as well as questions to ask Mormons about it.
