Devotional

BYU-Idaho Devotional, ‘President Thomas S. Monson: Taking Temples to All the World,’ September 20, 2011; “Being worthy of a temple recommend, and actively worshiping in the temple is an important part of the whole armor of God, literally part of the oil in our lanterns in preparation for the glorious second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. flowers-cartoon-8The Visiting Teaching message for the month of August gives a brief description of the Mormons view of the role Jesus as Messiah. Elder Jeffery R. Holland and Dieter F. “If you left the Mormon church because you “discovered” the power of the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ outside of the LDS church, I’m sorry you never understood that before you left. But plenty of people do.” – Lynda

“the power …of the redeeming blood ….of Jesus Christ… “

Psalm 3:8 – Salvation belongs to the Lord.

The Mormon Church puts a huge burden on the members of the church to help redeem the dead and participate in the work of salvation as they share the Mormon gospel with others not of their faith. This burden is placed on their shoulders at a very young age as they prepare to be baptized and from there prepare to attend the temple as a young man or woman performing baptisms for the dead.

In Acts 20:28 we read:

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

Las Vegas Mormon TempleAs I was checking my email today I came upon an article about Marie Osmond’s recent temple re-marriage to her 1st husband Stephen Craig. According to Mormon doctrine this means they once again qualify and are worthy to become a god and goddess. Their temple marriage and sealing ensures their exaltation and eternal life as they create and organize their own world, and procreate spiritual offspring who will then inhabit the world they created.
