“And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation” Acts 17:26
It goes without saying the Church’s focus wasn’t solely on Jesus Christ at their last conference. We’ve highlighted a number of their talks you can see at General Conferences.
Today our topic is focused on the speakers at the General Conference. Of the thirty speakers, eleven were non-white and it reminded me of an article we wrote a few years back listing racist LDS scriptures. For more info see Racist Mormon Scriptures.
I pray the reason I’ve pointed this out today is clear. My heart is broken that anyone would be tricked into believing the falsehoods of Mormonism. That in itself is bad enough.
Compounding the problem is the race issue. It’d be a gross understatement to say that I’m horrified each time I hear of a non-white person joining the Church.
Memories of what it was like growing up in Utah Mormonism flood my mind each time I look at the list of racist LDS Scripture. I can’t help but wonder what must go through the minds of non-white people as well.
How does the Church explain itself in light of their canon and the people they tricked into joining their ranks? Moreover, the racist canon they hold tight to doesn’t include the countless racist statements and talks their leaders have made in their 191 years of existence. See Racist Remarks by Leaders in the Church for a handful of examples.
Please, pray the Lord will open the eyes of all Mormons — no matter the color of their skin!
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
