Procreation in Heaven

Doctrines of Salvation 2:48; “The Father has promised us that through our faithfulness we shall be blessed with the fulness of his kingdom. In other words we will have the privilege of becoming like him. To become like him we must have all the powers of godhood; thus a man and his wife when glorified will have spirit children who eventually will go on an earth like this one…”

American Continent Empty?

The Improvement Era, July 1940, Vol. 43, no. 7, pg 396; “The Lord took every precaution to see that nothing might interfere with this posterity of Joseph in working out their God-given destiny and the destiny of America. He provided, and so told Lehi at the very beginning of his settlement, that… it is wisdom that this land should be kept as yet from the knowledge of other nations… The Lord so kept the land for a thousand years after Lehi landed. He so kept it in His wisdom for another thousand years after the Nephites were destroyed, perhaps to give the Lamanitish branch another chance.” – J. Reuben Clark

Lost Ten Tribes Live at North Pole

Messenger and Advocate, Vol. 2, No. 1, “Letter No. 11”, October 1835, pg 194; “Let no man marvel at this statement, because there may be a continent at the north pole [sic], of more than 1300 square miles, containing thousands of millions of Israelites, who, after a highway is cast up in the great deep, may come to Zion, singing songs of everlasting joy.” – W.W. Phelps

Other Men’s Wives

Journal of Discourses 2:13-14; “What would a man of God say, who felt aright, when Joseph asked him for his money? He would say, “Yes, and I wish I had more to help to build up the kingdom of God.” Or if he came and said, “I want your wife?” “O yes,” he would say, “here she is, there are plenty more… Did the Prophet Joseph want every man’s wife he asked for? He did not, but in that thing was the grand thread of the Priesthood

Jedediah M. Grant

Jedidiah Morgan Grant

developed. The grand object in view was to try the people of God, to see what was in them. If such a man of God should come to me and say, “I want your gold and silver, or your wives,” I should say, “Here they are, I wish I had more to give you, take all I have got.” A man who has got the Spirit of God, and the light of eternity in him, has no trouble about such matters.” – Jedidiah M. Grant, Salt Lake City, February 19, 1854

God Didn’t Fight Their Battles for Them

Journal of Discourses 5:167; “Brother Heber has been prophesying. You know that I call him my Prophet, and he prophesies for me. And now I prophesy that, if this people will live their religion, the God of heaven will fight their battles, bring them off victorious over all their enemies, and give to them the kingdom. That is my prophecy. I said amen to all that brother Heber prophesied, for it is true; and he may say amen to all that I prophesy, for it is also true.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, August 30, 1857

Some Saints Live to See Jesus’ Return

History of the Church 1:176; “And the Spirit fell upon Lyman, and he prophesied concerning the coming of Christ. He said that there were some in the congregation that should live until the Savior should descend from heaven with a shout, with all the holy angels with Him…”The congregation at this conference number two thousand souls.”—Cannon’s Life of Joseph Smith the Prophet, p. 113.” – August 1831

Revelations; Past Revelations don’t Matter

All Are Alike Unto God, Bruce McConkie Speech at BYU, June 1978; We get our truth and our light line upon line and precept upon precept. We have now had added a new flood of intelligence and light on this particular subject, and it erases all the darkness and all the views and all the thoughts of the past. They don’t matter any more.  It doesn’t make a particle of difference what anybody ever said about the Negro matter before the first day of June of this year, 1978. It is a new day and a new arrangement, and the Lord has now given the revelation that sheds light out into the world on this subject. As to any slivers of light or any particles of darkness of the past, we forget about them.

Murder

Murder forgiven

Alma 24:10; “And I also thank my God, yea, my great God, that he hath granted unto us that we might repent of these things, and also that he hath forgiven us of those our many sins and murders which we have committed, and taken away the guilt from our hearts, through the merits of his Son.”

Introductory page of D&C 1976, 3rd paragraph; This took place in the early spring of 1820.  In September, 1823, and at later times, Joseph Smith received visitations from Moroni, an angel of light, who revealed the resting place of the ancient record from which The Book of Mormon was afterward translated.

Earth Conceives and has Parents

Journal of Discourses6:36; “Does the earth conceive?  It does and it brings forth.  If it did not, why do you go and put your wheat into the ground?  Does it not conceive it….Where did the earth come from?  From its parent earths.  Well, some of you may call that foolish philosophy.  But if it is, I will throw out foolish things, that you may gather up wise things.  The earth is alive.  If it was not, it could not produce”. – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, November 8, 1857

Joseph Smith the False Prophet

History of the Church 6:366; “When did I ever teach anything wrong from this stand? When was I ever confounded? I want to triumph in Israel before I depart hence and am no more seen. I never told you I was perfect; but there is no error in the revelations which I have taught. Must I, then, be thrown away as a thing of naught?”

Forgiveness

Enos 1:5-8; “And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed.  And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away. And I said: Lord, how is it done? And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.”

Not Having Kids Means No True Salvation

Teachings of Harold B. Lee, pg 283; “There are those among us who think (if it can be called thinking) that having a large family of children is old-fashioned and an evidence of those who are unsophisticated and don’t know better. No more pernicious doctrine than that could hardly be imagined. Those who refuse to accept the obligations of parenthood are not living up to their greatest opportunities…Those who refuse as husbands and wives to have children are proving themselves already too small for the infinitude of God’s creative powers.”

Food Storage; Mormon Jesus Says No!

3 Nephi 13:31; “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?”

D&C 109:8; Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing, and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God.

The two Mormon scriptures above are just another example of the contradictory teachings in the Church.

Followers, Who Had More?

Journal of Discourses 14:202-203; …when we examine and understand the facts in relation to this personage whom we call the Savior of the world, there were not, strange to say, as many persons believed on him as have believed on Joseph Smith in the latter days. Not that Joseph was the Savior, but he was a prophet.” – Salt Lake City, August 13, 1871.
