Stake Conference, Maricopa Stake, December 7, 1913; “I know that God is a being with body, parts, and passions and that His Son is in His own likeness, and that man is created in the image of God. The Son, Jesus Christ, grew and developed into manhood the same as you or I, as likewise did God, His Father grow and develop to the Supreme Being that He now is.

Man was born of woman; Christ the Savior, was born of woman and God, the Father, was born of woman. Adam, our earthly parent, was also born of woman into this world, the same as Jesus and you and I.” – Joseph F. Smith, quoted in Deseret Evening News, December 27, 1913, Sec. III, p. 7; Also Deseret News: Church Section, September 19, 1936, p. 2, 8, as well as Doctrinal Commentary on the Pearl of Great Price, p. 179, by Hyrum Andrus.

No Fraud in Mormonism

salt lake mormon temple 2Doctrines of Salvation 1:190; “NO FRAUD FOUND IN JOSEPH SMITH’S WORK. Had the work been based on fraud, it would have been exposed many years ago in some of the many publications and attacks made against it. For upwards of 100 years the revealed gospel has stood the test of criticism, attack, and bitter opposition. I think we can say that never before in recorded history do we have an account of truth passing through such a crucible and being put to such a test as has the truth known in the world as Mormonism.”

Proverbs 19:9; “A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.”

Motherhood Necessary for Salvation

Gospel Doctrine: Selections from the Sermons and Writings of Joseph F. Smith, p. 288; “Motherhood lies at the foundation of happiness in the home… Can she be saved without child-bearing? She indeed takes an awful risk if she wilfully disregards what is a pronounced requirement of God. How shall she plead her innocence when she is not innocent? How shall she excuse her guilt when it is fastened upon her?” – Joseph F. Smith
