Mark 3:25 “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”

General Conference, ‘Sisters’ Participation in the Gathering of Israel,’ October 2018 “… it was our glorious Mother Eve—with her far-reaching vision of our Heavenly Father’s plan—who initiated what we call ‘‘the Fall.” Her wise and courageous choice and Adam’s supporting decision moved God’s plan of happiness forward. They made it possible for each of us to come to earth, receive a body, and prove that we would choose to stand up for Jesus Christ now, just as we did premortally.” (more…)

The lies and contradictions Russell Nelson made this past weekend were many. One thing that caught our attention was when he told members Jesus gave the Nephites specific instructions on what to name their church…

The Correct Name of the Church “It was the Savior Himself who said, “For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Even earlier, in AD 34, our resurrected Lord gave similar instruction to members of His Church when He visited them in the Americas. …Thus, the name of the Church is not negotiable.” –– Russell M. Nelson, October 7, 2018 (more…)

John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

General Conference, ‘Becoming Exemplary Latter-day Saints, October 2018 “… the assaults of the adversary are increasing exponentially, in intensity and in variety. Our need to be in the temple on a regular basis has never been greater…  If you have reasonable access to a temple, I urge you to find a way to make an appointment regularly with the Lord—to be in His holy house—then keep that appointment with exactness and joy.” Russell M. ‘If Jesus ever gave us a command He could not enable us to fulfil, He would be a liar; and if we make our inability a barrier to obedience, it means we are telling God there is something He has not taken into account. Every element of self reliance must be slain by the power of God.’ Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest, May 5th

It’s my urgent prayer the Mormon people would heed God’s call, and be saved. There are no words in the English language to efficiently describe the sorrow in my heart knowing their fate if they continue on the path they’ve trodden upon. It seems as if their leaders words become worse with time, albeit there’s little room left at the bottom of that barrel.

Today we’re looking at the Church’s incessant try at controlling the thought life of all people, as well as two talks beginning with their top apostle, Henry Eyring. His words are a mockery towards the Lord God. It’s obvious he’s proficient in biblical phrases, and has used his knowledge to lead my people to Satan’s doorstep.

Today we’re looking at the latest Church News which by all intents and purposes would indicate something new was going on…such was not the case here.

It seems the Church goes out of its way to remind members of how awesome they are, and while doing so leave out the truth. (more…)

Yesterday, the Mormon world was all abuzz after hearing that their leader Russell M. Nelson, announced  the Lord no longer wanted them to use the name “Mormon” to describe their church, or its members. President Nelson said, “The Lord has impressed upon my mind the importance of the name” (Deseret News) (more…)

As promised, today we’re finishing up our look at comments made by Russell Nelson at his stop in Nairobi, Kenya. Yesterday we examined the Mormon ideology of how LDS temple attendance is mandatory for salvation. See SHAMEFUL LDS AFRICAN TOUR for more info.

To give readers a brief note on today’s topic of dowries, it’d be helpful to know that dowries is a hot topic in African countries today. Somewhere in time there was a major reversal of who paid the dowry, and who was the recipient. As it stands today, the bride’s family owes, and it’s a source of contention in many tribes.

Without belaboring this topic, we’ve found some really good info providing the historical aspects of dowries, both then and now. (more…)

Luke 19:41 “And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it”.

LDS Church News, ‘Prophet Visits the Holy Land,’ April 2018; “The reason why prophets are needed is because Heavenly Father wants His children to have the opportunity to come home to Him,”…“God has always dealt with His children on the earth through prophets, but He wants them to choose to come home. So those people who choose to obey the commandments [given through prophets] will have that opportunity to return home with their families in eternal life together,” said President Nelson…

…“This is a legendary land,” Elder Holland said. “It’s a spine-tingling thrill for me to realize that I’m in the company of President Russell M. Nelson, a modern prophet in every sense that they were ancient prophets [in Jerusalem in biblical times] with the same authority and the same priesthood and teaching the same gospel.”

Elder Holland continued, “Our living testimony today is we have a living prophet this very hour on this soil standing in this land teaching that same doctrine.”

As I began compiling notes for our look at the talks given at this year’s General Conference, I received a heads up from Melissa telling me about a website she came across promoting ‘The 70 Day President Nelson Study’. The 70 days is based on the 70 talks Mr. Nelson has given at past General Conferences. The idea is that you can learn more about Nelson by reading his talks.

LDS Church ‘Retires’ Home and Visiting Teaching

In what the Church referred to as ‘an historic General Conference’, several announcements were made including new apostles, and the ‘retirement’ of the Visiting and Home Teaching programs implemented back in the ‘50’s.

Today we’re looking at the highlights of what leaders said regarding the Home Teaching program, and tomorrow we’ll look at the installment of their new non-white apostles. Woo-hoo! To read the stories in full, see the links at Deseret News and the LDS Church.

A couple of remarks they made warrants serious attention. We pray that if you’re a home, or visiting teacher you’ll stop to think about their choice of words. Here are the highlights –

Psalm 119:89 “For ever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven.”

Yesterday we looked at a random question someone had e-mailed us here at LAM. It reminded me of God’s omnipresence in the lives of believers. When we stop to think of it, the body of Christ is a living example that Jesus keeps His promise! Mt. 16:18.

As great as that news was, the e-mail I received last night is at the  other end of the spectrum. The  words of the gentleman who wrote in is heartbreaking. He sounded like a typical Mormon in the tone he used, which only serves to spur me on in this work. His e-mail is listed below, followed by our response.

The one thing I hope to get across in posting this is that we’re not here to bash Mormons. We’re heartbroken they’ve been so deceived, and have obviously spent exorbitant amounts of time in their quest to vindicate Joe Smith’s false gospel. Please, pray for this man, won’t you?

We’ve not included his name, nor have we changed any spelling in his note –

Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.”

One of my all time favorite Christmas songs is ‘O, Holy Night’.  The words, ‘fall on  your knees’, reminds us of what it says in Matthew 2:11 when the wise men fell down to worship the newborn King of Israel. The song’s four simple words commands attention of all who hear the words.

As I’ve reflected on that song this holiday season, my thoughts also go to the numerous times the Church has brazenly touted Joe Smith’s use of occult methods in producing the Book of Mormon. Their list of articles is exhaustive… Today we’re taking a quick look at how the Church methodically chronicles Mormon historical events without giving any new revelations, nor do they provide any info on their church’s namesake, that being Jesus.

General Conference, ‘Endure to be Lifted Up,’ April 1997; “The supreme benefits of membership in the Church can only be realized only through the exalting ordinances of the temple. These blessings qualify us for “thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers” in the celestial kingdom.” – Russell M. Nelson

Isaiah 29:13-16; “Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: 14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. 15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? 16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?”

Mormon Decisions 10Ensign, “The Atonement,” November 1996; “…Paul said, “As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” 14 The Atonement of Jesus Christ became the immortal Russell Nelsoncreation. He volunteered to answer the ends of a law previously transgressed. 15 And by the shedding of His blood, His 16 and our physical bodies could become perfected. They could again function without blood, just as Adam’s and Eve’s did in their paradisiacal form. Paul taught that “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; … this mortal must put on immortality.” 17…”  – Russell M. Nelson
