Conversion

http://www.lds.org/study/topics/conversion?lang=eng  “Conversion includes a change in behavior, but it goes beyond behavior; it is a change in our very nature. It is such a significant change that the Lord and His prophets refer to it as a rebirth, a change of heart, and a baptism of fire.

Conversion is a process, not an event. Conversion comes as a result of righteous efforts to follow the Savior. These efforts include exercising faith in Jesus Christ, repenting of sin, being baptized, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end in faith.”

Takeover of Salem, Mass.

D&C 111:2-5; “I have much treasure in this city for you, for the benefit of Zion, and many people in this city, whom I will gather out in due time for the benefit of Zion, through your instrumentality. 3 Therefore, it is expedient that you should form acquaintance with men in this city, as you shall be led, and as it shall be given you. 4 And it shall come to pass in due time that I will give this city into your hands, that you shall have power over it, insomuch that they shall not discover your secret parts; and its wealth pertaining to gold and silver shall be yours. 5 Concern not yourselves about your debts, for I will give you power to pay them.”

Contradictions from the Leaders

Prophet’s Spoken Words Are Scripture

D&C 68:2-4; “And, behold, and lo, this is an ensample unto all those who were ordained unto this priesthood, whose mission is appointed unto them to go forth—And this is the ensample unto them, that they shall speak as they are moved upon by the Holy Ghost.  And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation.”

God’s Destroyer

D&C 105:13-15; “Therefore it is expedient in me that mine elders should wait for a little season, for the redemption of Zion.14 For behold, I do not require at their hands to fight the battles of Zion; for, as I said in a former commandment, even so will I fulfil—I will fight your battles.15 Behold, the destroyer I have sent forth to destroy and lay waste mine enemies; and not many years hence they shall not be left to pollute mine heritage, and to blaspheme my name upon the lands which I have consecrated for the gathering together of my saints.”

Gods

Discourses of Brigham Young, pg 245; “Intelligent beings are organized to become Gods, even the Sons of God, to dwell in the presence of the Gods, and become associated with the highest intelligences that dwell in eternity. We are now in the school, and must practice upon what we receive. 8:160.”

Thought of the Day about Mormonism, Romney, and Liberty University

I only have one question.

Why?

Why would a Christian university continue to use Mormons as their commencement speakers when they in fact teach classes on cults?

This isn’t the first time Liberty’s done this.  Glenn Beck has visited their pulpits as well.  I’ve never counted the number of Christians who run ministries, churches, etc, but I would imagine Liberty University could get anyone they wanted to come speak TRUTH to their students from the ONE AND ONLY WORD OF GOD known as THE BIBLE.

They are inviting the spirit of Satan to stand at that pulpit.  The god of Mormonism is NOT the God of the Bible.  The Jesus of Mormonism is NOT the Jesus of the Bible.   The Jesus of Mormonism is the brother of Lucifer and they have invited someone who believes in that to speak to their students.

To say that I am insulted would be putting it mildly.

Priesthood of God

Doctrines of Salvation 3:80; “Man cannot act legally in the name of the Lord unless he is vested with the priesthood, which is divine authority. No man has the power or the right to take this honor to himself. Unless he is called of God, as was Aaron, he has no authority to officiate in any of the ordinances of the gospel; should he do so his act is not valid or recognized in the heavens. The Lord has said his house is a house of order, and he has given the commandment that no man shall come unto the Father but by his divine law which is established in the heavens.  All men who assume authority, but who have not been properly called, will have to answer for their acts in the day of judgment.”

Second Coming; Year of Jesus’ Return

On Feb. 14, 1835 Smith said in HC 2:182; “…and it was the will of God that those who went Zion, with a determination to lay down their lives, if necessary, should be ordained to the ministry, and go forth to prune the vineyard for the last time, or the coming of the Lord, which was nigh—even fifty-six years should wind up the scene.”

Bible vs. Book of Mormon

1991 Sperry Symposium on What the Book of Mormon Tells us about the Bible, pg. 93-94; “The Book of Mormon is a document to be reckoned with, and I am confident that everyone’s spiritual well-being will ultimately depend on what he or she knows and feels about it. I like this expression from Elder Orson Pratt:

“The nature of the message in the Book of Mormon is such, that if true, no one can possibly be saved and reject it; if false, no one can possibly be saved and receive it… The Book of Mormon declares first that the Bible is a true and sacred witness for Jesus Christ and contains teachings, doctrines, covenants, history, and prophecy of great worth to the human family; second, that the Bible available in our day is not as complete nor as doctrinally accurate as it was when written by the ancient prophets and apostles and, moreover, that the loss of material is both substantial and extensive; third, that the missing material was deliberately removed from the Bible by persons of evil intent among the Gentiles; fourth, that many people have stumbled spiritually because of the loss of so much plain and precious information from the Bible; fifth, that the crucial missing parts shall be restored to the Bible through latter-day scripture; sixth, that many in the last days, because of pride and unbelief, reject the miraculous events and doctrinal precepts of the Bible; and seventh, that the Book of Mormon is the greatest of all documentary witnesses for the Bible.

United Order to be Forever – Then Again Maybe Not

D&C 104:1, 47, 53; “1 Verily I say unto you, my friends, I give unto you counsel, and a commandment, concerning all the properties which belong to the order which I commanded to be organized and established, to be a united order, and an everlasting order for the benefit of my church, and for the salvation of men until I come— And now, a commandment I give unto you concerning Zion, that you shall no longer be bound as a united order to your brethren of Zion, only on this wise— Therefore, you are dissolved as a united order with your brethren, that you are not bound only up to this hour unto them, only on this wise, as I said, by loan as shall be agreed by this order in council, as your circumstances will admit and the voice of the council direct.”

Creation

Doctrines of Salvation 1:74; “ADAM AND OTHERS HELPED IN CREATION. It is true that Adam helped to form this earth. He labored with our Savior Jesus Christ. I have a strong view or conviction that there were others also who assisted them. Perhaps Noah and Enoch; and why not Joseph Smith, and those who were appointed to be rulers before the earth was formed? We know that Jesus our Savior was a Spirit when this great work was done. He did all of these mighty works before he tabernacled in the flesh.” – Joseph Fielding Smith

Zion’s Camp; Angels go Before You, Curse Enemy

D&C103:15-25; Behold, I say unto you, the redemption of Zion must needs come by power… 24 And inasmuch as mine enemies come against you to drive you from my goodly land, which I have consecrated to be the land of Zion, even from your own lands after these testimonies, which ye have brought before me against them, ye shall curse them.”

Children Cannot Sin

D&C 29:46-47; But behold, I say unto you, that little children are redeemed from the foundation of the world through mine Only Begotten; 47 Wherefore, they cannot sin, for power is not given unto Satan to tempt little children, until they begin to become accountable before me.

Never Say No to Callings

Follow the Living Prophets, pg. 253; Never say no to an opportunity to serve in the Church. If you are called to an assignment by one who has authority, there is but one answer. It is, of course, expected that you set forth clearly what your circumstances are, but any assignment that comes under call from your bishop or your stake president is a call that comes from the Lord…Once called to such positions, do not presume to set your own date of release. A release is in effect another call. Men do not call themselves to offices in the Church.

Brigham Young is LDS Dictator

Journal of Discourses 7:19-20; What do you say, brethren and sisters? Do you not think it best for us to do right, each person individually being led by the dictations of the Holy Spirit, listening diligently to those who are appointed to lead, govern, and dictate this people? You know what I mean by this. President Young is our governor and our dictator. It is for me to walk with him, and for you to walk with those who go before you.” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, July 16, 1854

Brigham Young and Joseph Smith; How Great They are

Gospel Standards, pg. 18; BRIGHAM YOUNG AND JOSEPH SMITH. While we honor Brigham Young as the great statesman, the great pioneer and colonizer, we must not forget that Brigham Young built upon the foundation, and fulfilled the predictions, made by the Prophet Joseph Smith. And Brigham Young, great as he was, on all occasions magnified the Prophet Joseph. I honor and love him for the reverence he gave to the man who was the instrument in the hands of almighty God of restoring the gospel to the earth.—Era, 4:690-691.” – Heber J. Grant
