You have got to be kidding me. Seriously?
What if God gave you a set of instructions and while quickly flipping through a laundry list of things you need to figure out in order to get saved you come upon the directive “and so forth”?
What would you do?

Thought of the Day about Mormonism and the Sacrament

One is a picture of bread and water while the other is a picture of Joe Smith kneeling in prayer, arms tightly folded while people are laying hands on his head and praying.
My focus on this set of pictures for this quick thought today is the bread and water. Notice the bread is filled with yeast and what in that water looks like the blood of Christ?

Thought of the Day & the Most Stupid Quote of All Time
Today my good friend Ed Decker had a posting on his Facebook page about an article appearing in BusinessWeek, a money magazine and online info cache for people.
Interestingly enough they’ve posted an article on how the Mormon Church makes their money (see link below) and interviewed a man by the name of Keith McMullin who oversees Deseret Management Corporation. I wasn’t all that interested in the article (I already know how the Church makes their money off the backs of its members) until I read his comment about those who have and those who have not.

Contending Warmly with Others with Your Fists
Alma 1:22; “Nevertheless, there were many among them who began to be proud, and began to contend warmly with their adversaries, even unto blows; yea, they would smite one another with their fists.”
As you might have guessed I have to post this one. If this whole Book of Mormon thing wasn’t so serious I’d be rolling on the floor in laughter with some of these stupid verses.
Honestly, how do the Mormon people look upon these things and not walk right out the door of Mormonism? How in the world is this inspired?

Mosiah 2:26; “And I, even I, whom ye call your king, am no better than ye yourselves are; for I am also of the dust. And ye behold that I am old, and am about to yield up this mortal frame to its mother earth.”
Mother Earth?
Really?
This phrase is a personification of nature that God created. It is the focus of thanking Mother Nature (Mother Earth) for her life giving aspects. God said he hates those who worship other gods – Ps. 31:6.
Why is this in the Book of Mormon?

3 Nephi 11:13-14; “And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto them saying: Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world.”
Sorry to take you down the road of imagining the scene again, but can you imagine an entire multitude thrusting their hands into his side? If you can, well then…oh never mind…

“And God was the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob…”
While doing some research for an article in the Book of Mormon I came across Mosiah 7:19. Here in part is what it says;
“…put your trust in God, in that God who was the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob…”
Now I ask you the reader if you’ve ever come across this phrase.
I am also wondering when God stopped being the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob…hmmm…it makes ya wonder about Mr. Smith now doesn’t it?

1 Nephi 13:41 says; “…there is one God and one Shepherd over all the earth.”
If there’s only one God over the earth then what did Smith mean when he said the “trinity” is made up of 3 gods?
Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 370; “I will preach on the plurality of Gods. I have selected this text for that express purpose. I wish to declare I have always and in all congregations when I have preach on the subject of the Deity, it has been the plurality of Gods. It has been preached by the Elders for fifteen years. I have always declared God to be a distinct personage, Jesus Christ a separate and distinct personage from God the Father, and that the Holy Ghost was a distinct personage and a Spirit: and these three constitute three distinct personages and three Gods.”

Thought of the Day
How did this happen?
The book of 3rd Nephi was supposedly written circa 34 AD.
The book of Malachi was written circa 443 BC.
If this was truly from God how did the Nephites get this info somewhere in the Americas when Malachi lived in Israel? There was no internet, no phones…how did this happen?
And if the Mormon Church believes the word of God is tainted and not translated correctly then why are they plagiarizing it?
Furthermore, how can they believe this is true when in fact they don’t believe it is? This contradicts the theory that God was once a man!
Oh what a tangled web we weave…

Thought of the Day about Mormonism and the Great Apostasy

Thought of the Day about Mormonism and Solomon’s Temple
Today I was thinking about Solomon’s Temple in relation to the workforce it took to build the temple in 7.5 years and what the author of the Book of Mormon was thinking when he claimed Nephi built a temple much like Solomon’s.

Thought of the Day about Mormonism, Romney, and Liberty University
I only have one question.
Why?
Why would a Christian university continue to use Mormons as their commencement speakers when they in fact teach classes on cults?
This isn’t the first time Liberty’s done this. Glenn Beck has visited their pulpits as well. I’ve never counted the number of Christians who run ministries, churches, etc, but I would imagine Liberty University could get anyone they wanted to come speak TRUTH to their students from the ONE AND ONLY WORD OF GOD known as THE BIBLE.
They are inviting the spirit of Satan to stand at that pulpit. The god of Mormonism is NOT the God of the Bible. The Jesus of Mormonism is NOT the Jesus of the Bible. The Jesus of Mormonism is the brother of Lucifer and they have invited someone who believes in that to speak to their students.
To say that I am insulted would be putting it mildly.

You know just when you think you’ve got a full plate and you’ve haphazardly “told” God you’re thankful He doesn’t toss any other “ism” your way? Yeah, my piece of advice on that is DON’T DO IT!!!

Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 341 it says; “President Joseph Smith again arose and said—In relation to the power over the minds of mankind which I hold, I would say, It is in consequence of the power of truth in the doctrines which I have been an instrument in the hands of God of presenting unto them, and not because of any compulsion on my part… (March 24, 1844.)”

Good Friday
Today I thought I’d remind the Christian community there is no recognition or observance of Good Friday in Mormonism. I remember as a child growing up in Utah I had three non-Mormon friends and on Good Friday they’d never be able to come out and play like they did the other days of Easter Break. I don’t recall asking them why, but I do remember thinking they celebrated some strange day just before Easter they always called “Good Friday”.

Another Thought of the Day about Mormonism…
Melissa sent me a link to a Youtube video that I believe is really important to share with our readers. Beware, there’s a lot of bleeping out on this one.
This video is a Christian ministry who went to the Mormon General Conference this past weekend (April 1, 2012) to ask Mormons a few questions. We don’t know the names of these Mormons and while I realize their attitude is less than stellar, we’re asking you to pray for them anyway! Just think of how icky it must be in his heart to have words like this come so quickly out of his mouth. It’s indicative of what’s going on inside.
