Mormon Lifestyles1As I look at the different videos on YouTube by members of the Mormon Church, I find myself wondering how far are they willing to go be seen as “one of the guys (or gals)”? I’ve seen link after link of different parodies of songs members of the Church have made to promote something about their religion.

A new thing they seem to be into is taking popular songs and making it “their own”. Below are just a few examples of this:

Old-Testament-Gospel-Doctrine-Teachers-Manual-35570000The lesson begins in 1 Kings 12 with Solomon’s son King Rehoboam and his foolish actions which led to the division between Judah and Israel. As it continues on, using Rehoboam his great-grandson Jehoshaphat as examples of what a godly leader should look like. The lesson lists five qualities any righteous leader must have to lead effectively.  These qualities are: gives service, trusts and obeys the Lord, has faith in God, teaches from the scriptures, and lastly follows the prophets.

Below is a chronological list of the prophets in the LDS Church.  Along with dates served I’ve included what I’ve dubbed a notable quotable for each.  As you can imagine the list to choose the most heretical quote was extensive, alas, I hope what is presented will suffice in providing the reader good examples of the abhorrent doctrines promulgated by these leaders.

8th Article of Faith

“We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

Has there ever been a topic in life that affects you so deeply that it makes it difficult for you to speak or to even write about?  If there is, then you’ll be able to relate to the pain in my heart that I have over the 8th Article of Faith.  It is rare that I am left speechless as the people in my life can certainly attest to; but this is one of those rare occurrences where this has happened.
