January 4 — After Jeffery R. Holland died on December 27, 2025, I saw some quotes from him shared on a Facebook page I follow but couldn’t find their original sources.

The First quote says —

“We are not saved in our sins, but from our sins. Salvation comes only through obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel.”

I would have liked to have found the reference to this quote to give Holland credit for it, but I was able to find quote by another Mormon General Authority who said the same thing. (more…)

October 3 — Journal of Discourses 11:232 “In speaking about apostacy, it is a remarkable feature connected with it and with those who favor apostates and consort with them that they are filled with the spirit of fear. It can be truthfully said of the Latter-day Saints, that they are a fearless people. Even our enemies give us credit for this—that in the midst of dangers and difficulties we are undisturbed and not easily appalled. But there is this peculiarity connected with apostacy and apostates, and with those who consort with and favor them: they are continually in dread of some impending danger—some evil that is about to be perpetrated upon them by the Latter-day Saints…It is only when a man does that which is wrong that he receives the spirit of fear.” — George Q. Cannon, May 6, 1866 (more…)

August 9 — When I think about it, I don’t think I ever heard the word adversary used as much in a sentence as I did until after I joined the Mormon Church. Whether it was at a church meeting, a visit from home teachers, or visiting teachers, the adversary never failed to make an appearance on any given topic. (more…)

‘For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.’ 2 Timothy 1:7

May 27 — LDS: Better Off Dead Than Unclean. First Presidency Message, ‘We Believe in Being Chaste’, September 1981 “My son, you are going a long way from home. Your mother and I, and your brothers and sisters, will be with you constantly in our thoughts and prayers; we shall rejoice with you in your successes, and we shall sorrow with you in your disappointments. When you are released and return, we shall be glad to greet you and welcome you back into the family circle. (more…)

January 26 — LDS Church: We’ve Never Taught Racism. Ensign, ‘No More Strangers’, Sept 2000, p. 16 “The sin of racism will be eliminated only when every human being treats other with the dignity and respect each deserves as a beloved child of our Heavenly Father.

How grateful I am that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has from its beginnings stood strongly against racism in any of its malignant manifestations.” – Elder Alexander B. Morrison, “No More Strangers” (more…)

Today we’re looking at the introduction of the new LDS teaching manual; ‘Come Follow Me’. As you’ll see the only real change they made was putting a shiny new bow on the same false gospel they deliver.

In essence, the Church has re-gifted their ungodliness to the people who trusts them with their very souls.

Come Follow Me for Individuals and Families New Testament 2019 “Conversion is Our Goal — The aim of all gospel learning and teaching is to deepen our conversion and help us become more like Jesus Christ. For this reason, when we study the gospel, we’re not just looking for new information; we want to become a “new creature” (see 2 Corinthians 5:17). This means relying on Christ to change our hearts, our views, our actions, and our very natures.” (more…)

A HOUSE DIVIDED

Mark 3:25; “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”

According to the Assistant of the Twelve Apostles, ElRay Christiansen, the words of Jesus are flat out wrong. Check out what he had to say at a General Conference –

Conference Report, April 1953, p. 35; “There are two spirits striving with all men; one telling them what to do that is right, and one telling them what to do that will please themselves, that will gratify their own pride and ambition. If we live as we ought to live we will always follow that spirit that teaches us to do that which is right.” – ElRay Christiansen, Assistant to the Twelve Apostles

Jude 24-25; “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”

WHAT SPIRIT GUIDES THE MORMON CHURCH?

If you ask a Mormon our question of the day, it’s a toss-up as to what their answer might be. One of the things they’ve been repeatedly indoctrinated with comes from a Doctrine and Covenants Manual telling them the Prophet is pre-eminent.

Doctrine and Covenants Institute Student Manual, Section 90, The Oracles of God; “Counselors can do everything their presiding officer directs them to do, as if the president were personally acting. In this sense they are equals. However, they have no power to act independent of the president. Rigdon and…Williams received their ordination from the Prophet Joseph Smith, who held the keys. Since these two men received their authority from Joseph Smith, it follows that they were not equal to him in every sense…”the pre-eminence of the President of the Church was maintained. . . . ( Joseph Smith, p. 303.)”

This is obviously far different from what we read in God’s Holy word!

Articles of Faith, p. 344; “Salvation is attainable only through compliance with the laws and ordinances of the Gospel” – James Talmage

Matthew 24:24; “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Journal of Discourses 12:315; “And you, sisters, cease trading with any man or being in this city or country who does not belong to the church. If you do not, we are going to cut you off from the church, for we are determined not to be driven or broken up again, and we are determined to deal with love and sustain our nation, our community. We mean to live here. We came 1,400 miles to get away from that power which is trying to get into our midst to break us up again. … we calculate to stay here if you will do as I tell you, and cease trading with those who are not of us. Do you suppose that Jesus did not understand the spirit and the feelings of the world when He said, “He who is not for us is against us.” Every man and woman of intelligence that ever was or ever will be upon the earth is either for God or against Him.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, November 29, 1868

On Tuesday May 16, 2017 Glenn Pace passed away in Bountiful, UT at the age of 77. Glenn Pace was an Elder and Leader in the Mormon Church. Apparently one of the things he was known for was a memo he wrote about the satanic ritualistic child abuse that was going on in the Mormon Church.

In the early 1990’s the Tanner’s of Utah Light House Ministries were presented with a copy of a memo written by Mr. Pace stating that he had met with several individuals who claimed to be victims of ritualistic child abuse in the Mormon Church.

Here are Questions 14 to 17 in our series based on the article ’51 Questions that might lead you to Mormonism’.

Just to let you know, after consulting with Michelle I don’t believe I’m going to answer all the questions in his article. However, I do plan on answering the ones that pertain directly to Mormon doctrine, and those which use scripture as a means to mislead the lost or cast doubts on what God has actually said.

Today we’ll be covering questions 11, and 12 of our ongoing series based on the article, ‘51 questions that might lead you to Mormonism’.

“The word “God” is a title. It’s not the actual name of Christ and it’s not the name of Heavenly Father. So could others like you and I be called using that same title someday if we are faithful children of a being with the title of “God”? (John 10:30-36) (Romans 8:16-17)”

No, others like you, or I, can never be called by that name, it doesn’t matter how faithful we are, no, never.

Today we’ll be covering questions 9 and 10 of our ongoing series based on the article, ‘51 questions that might lead you to Mormonism’.

Why does Paul say that there are lots of gods? (1 Cor 8:5)

In respect to the Word, and reading it in context, I’d like to extend this portion of scripture to verse 6.

1 Corinthians 8:5-6 “For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.”

Romans 10:9-10; “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Today we’re taking a quick look at an article Melissa came across at LDSLiving.com, ’10 Reasons You Should be Mormon’. The title of their article reminded us of our warehouse of quotes, ‘1,000 Reasons to Leave Mormonism’. That aside, we’re wondering why she isn’t promoting Christianity? Why are they always trying to pull people away from Christianity, and into Mormonism?

Although she doesn’t realize it, the young female author of the article is in dire need of our prayers! Check out what she had to say, and please, remember to pray for her, and other Mormons caught in these lies. You can read her article in full at LDSLiving.com 10 Reasons Why You Should Be Mormon. Let’s begin shall we?!

We’re continuing our article series based on the article by Greg Trimble titled, ‘51 Questions that might lead you to Mormonism’.

Since the next three questions in the article deal with whether or not the bible is trustworthy and accurate, I’d like to tackle all of them in one article.

Before we begin allow me to start off by asking my own question-

Why would a religion or an individual, claiming to be a Christian try to make you doubt God’s word?

Sadly, that’s what Mormons, and Mormonism attempts to do, as you’ll see by this question. As we think about our responses to the following questions we need to remember that while there are “apparent” contradictions in the bible, there’s no true contradictions. When we truly study the bible, we will see that it explains itself.

By this, I mean that even though there are difficult and hard to understand passages in the bible, if you study it, you will find your answers. You need to remember that the bible has roughly 40 different authors, and covers a time span of about 1400 years. All of them are speaking to different audiences, with different perspectives, and all have different writing styles.

With that said, here’s the first question:

It’s no secret that Mormonism is completely different from Biblical Christianity. One of the ways Mormons are able to convince people their religion is the “one true church” is to create doubt in your mind about God, and His word.

The other day I came across an article titled ‘51 Questions that might lead you to Mormonism’. In the article, the author begins by explaining that when he was 20 he wasn’t finding happiness in his current interests. A couple of friends encouraged him to check out Mormonism, and then determine for himself if it’s doctrines were true.

2 Timothy 1:12 ‘…for I know whom I have believed…’

stickman thinking 2A couple of weeks ago Melissa sent me a link to a Facebook post she read that posed serious questions for each of us.

Today we’re simply going to ask a few questions about the post, and also ask our readers for their opinions as well, so here we go!

The FB post originated from the LDS New Era Magazine which contained an article about the traditions of a presumably LDS family.

The tradition consists of the family who gathered around a roaring fire every year on Christmas Eve, and asked the same question each time …

‘Should we believe for one more year?’
