 January 14 —Answers to Gospel Questions 3:138 -141 “…we learn that Noah is Gabriel and that he came to the Prophet Joseph Smith in his calling as an Elias and restored the keys of the dispensation in which the Lord made covenant with Abraham and his posterity after him to the latest generations.

The term Elias means forerunner. Noah, Elijah, John the Baptist and John the Revelator have been referred to as Elias in scripture, though the references to Elijah by this name are mistranslated. (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 340; D. & C. 77:9, 14.) (more…)

 March 11 — Disobedience Caused Lamanite’s Dark Skin. Answers to Gospel Questions, vol. 3, p. 122 “The dark skin was placed upon the Lamanites so that they could be distinguished from the Nephites and to keep the two peoples from mixing. The dark skin was the sign of the curse. The curse was the withdrawal of the Spirit of the Lord and the Lamanites becoming a “loathsome and filthy people, full of idleness and all manner of abominations.” (I Nephi 12:23.) The Heavenly Mother of Mormonism

 One of the core beliefs in Mormonism is that not only do they have a Father in Heaven, but a Mother in Heaven as well.  This doctrine came from what they call “latter day revelation”, yet it isn’t something you’ll find in any of their extra scriptures.

Mormonism teaches Heavenly Mother is the wife of the Mormon god, and was most likely his wife in the life she lived before earning her place by his side as his goddess wife of the planet earth.

Prayer Life of the Mormons

praygA few weeks ago I was asked by a Christian what the prayer life of a Mormon was like.  Because their inquiry caught me off guard I gave an answer that was actually incomplete. After I got home and began thinking about it I began thinking of all the dos and don’ts in Mormon prayer etiquette and my heart sank as I began adding up all the rules.

It’s hard to keep track of everything when there’s always a laundry list of requirements so we’ve laid them out and listed them here.

Other Reasons Why Negro Cannot Hold Priesthood 

Answers to Gospel Questions 2:188; “Kindly see chapters 15 and 16, in The Way to Perfection, for further light in relation to the reason why the Negro cannot receive the priesthood. In brief, it is as follows: Because of transgression in the first estate which deprives him in this second estate. Since Cain slew his brother Abel in order to obtain all the rights of priesthood to descend through his lineage, the Lord decreed that the children of Cain should not have the privilege of bearing the priesthood until Abel had posterity who could have the priesthood and that will have to be in the far distant future. When this is accomplished on some other world, then the restrictions will be removed from the children of Cain who have been true in this “second” estate”.
