September 13 — Enos 1:5-8 “And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed. And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away. And I said: Lord, how is it done? And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.” — BC 420 (more…)

Mating is Top Priority for LDS

“The end of all activity in the Church is to see that a man and a woman with their children are happy at home, sealed for eternity.” — Boyd K. Packer, 2015
Earlier this month we posted an article on a talk given by Dale Renlund who stated that LDS members should ask themselves if they’ve done enough. In his talk he mentioned another talk given by Boyd Packer in 2015.
Mr. Packer’s talk had two subject matters; the importance of ‘mating’, and the atonement of Christ. Over the next few days, we’ll look at some of the statements Mr. Packer made at that time. To be sure, his comments earned a spot in our next publication of ‘Worst of the Worst’. We looked at a small portion of his talk back when he originally gave it in 2015.
General Conference, ‘The Plan of Happiness’, April 2015 “The commandment to multiply and replenish the earth has never been rescinded. It is essential to the plan of redemption and is the source of human happiness. Through the righteous exercise of this power, we may come close to our Father in Heaven and experience a fulness of joy, even godhood. The power of procreation is not an incidental part of the plan; it is the plan of happiness; it is the key to happiness. (more…)

Galatians 2:16 “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
An article in the March issue of Ensign gave members a laundry list of mandates for true salvation. Their list of manmade works for salvation served as a stark reminder for us as Christians to always be on our knees for these dear people!

Angel of Light
Ensign, “Candle of the Lord”, January 1983 “We Can Be Deceived. Be ever on guard lest you be deceived by inspiration from an unworthy source. You can be given false spiritual messages. There are counterfeit spirits just as there are counterfeit angels. (See Moro. 7:17.) Be careful lest you be deceived, for the devil may come disguised as an angel of light.

“The Law and the Light,” Book of Mormon Symposium, BYU, October 30, 1988; “I declare the gospel to be both true and inclusive of every true element of any philosophy, indeed the gospel is a fulness of the truth in all of them…After the transformation caused by the Fall, bodies of flesh and bone and blood (unlike our spirit bodies), would not endure forever. Somehow the ingredient blood carried with it a limit to life. It was as though a clock were set and a time given. Thereafter, all living things moved inexorably toward mortal or temporal death. Temporal, I repeat, means temporary.” – Boyd K. Packer

Gospel Principles, pg 203; “Complete honesty is necessary for our salvation. An Apostle of the Lord has said: “Honesty is a principle of salvation in the kingdom of God…. Just as no man or woman can be saved without baptism, so no one can be saved without honesty” (Mark E. Petersen, in Conference Report, Oct. 1971, p. 63; or
Ensign, Dec. 1971, p. 72).”

Worshiping God and Becoming a god
“The Pattern of Our Parentage,” Ensign, Nov. 1984, p. 69; “The Father is the one true God. This thing is certain: no one will ever ascend above Him; no one will ever replace Him. Nor will anything ever change the relationship that we, His literal offspring, have with Him. He is Eloheim, the Father. He is God. Of Him there is only one. We revere our Father and our God; we worship Him.
There is only one Christ, one Redeemer. We accept the divinity of the Only Begotten Son of God in the flesh. We accept the promise that we may become joint heirs with Him.” – Boyd K. Packer

Truth
Boyd Packer has been a source of quotes for us here at LAM because of the contradictory and heretical teachings that come from his mouth while standing at a pulpit. And this time his teachings have proven themselves to be no different than other times.
On Sunday evening, November 6, 2011 the Deseret News published an article highlighting the speech he gave to an audience of young LDS members eager to hear some prophetic and wisdom filled words from the Mormon apostle.
