salt lake mormon temple 2Deseret Evening News, December 27, 1919, Section 3, p. 7;I know that my Redeemer liveth; I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God; I know that God is a being with body, parts, and passions and that his Son is in his own likeness, and that man is created in the image of God. The Son, Jesus Christ, grew and developed into manhood the same as you or I, as likewise did God, his father grow and develop to the Supreme Being that he now is. Man was born of woman; Christ the Savior, was born of woman; and God, the Father, was born of woman. Adam, our earthly parent, was also born of woman into this world, the same as Jesus and you and I.”

A Different Jesus

Mormon Decisions 10Ensign, “The Living Christ”, May 1977, pg 26; “It is true that many of the Christian churches worship a different Jesus Christ than is worshipped by the Mormons or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints… We also believe that the trinity of the Godhead is made up of three separate personages—God, the Eternal Father; Jesus Christ, the Son of God—our Savior; and the Holy Ghost. Jesus Needed Baptism for His Salvation

The Promised Messiah, pgs 482, 485; “…since the Messiah came to earth to work out his own salvation, as well as to make salvation available to all men—…even he cannot return from mortality to his state of eternal glory without entering in at the gate, the gate of baptism. “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5.) The Lord Jesus, being a man, required baptism, even as other men. There is no other way.”

Church Stands or Falls with Joseph Smith

From the Doctrines of Salvation, 1:188 it says; “Mormonism, as it is called, must stand or fall on the story of Joseph Smith. He was either a prophet of God, divinely called, properly appointed and commissioned, or he was one of the biggest frauds this world has ever seen. There is no middle ground.” – 10th Prophet LDS Church, Joseph Fielding Smith
