Revelation 4:10-11; “The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

asherah-taanach-cult-stand-223x300-biblical-archaeology-review

This four-tiered cult stand found at Tanaach is thought to represent Yahweh and Asherah, with each deity being depicted on alternating tiers. Note that on tier two, which is dedicated to Asherah, is the image of a living tree, often thought to be how the asherim as a cult symbol was expressed. “…our girls are in these years are placed in the same schools and given the same tasks that boys are, with little or no physical exercise. And what is the consequence? Simply this: That the reproductive organs are dwarfed and deprived of their natural strength, and in many instances the girl is deprived of that holiest, grandest gift of God unto His daughters, the crown of motherhood.” – Oliver B. Huntington

salt lake mormon temple 2Ensign, ‘Trust In the Lord,’ November 1995; “The Lord’s plan is to exalt you to live with Him and be greatly blessed. The rate at which you qualify is generally set by your capacity to mature, to grow, to love, and to give of yourself. He is preparing you to be a god. You cannot understand fully what that means, yet, He knows.” – Richard G. Scott

Job 36:26; “Behold, God is great, and we know him not, Neither can the number of his years be searched out.”

1 John 1:5; “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

Deseret News God Born of a Woman 1‘Work’ in any ministry entails a lot of reading, and the longer someone is a Christian, the more comfortable and knowledgeable, they’ll become with His word. You learn that He is predictable, trustworthy, able to withstand any onslaught of what might come His way.

In my personal walk with the Lord I’m acutely aware of the times I’m not studying enough, or spending enough time in private prayer, and I’ve learned that it’s like this for all Christians. As someone matures in their life with the Lord, it becomes clearly apparent when study, or prayer time is lacking. The Lord lets them know through a variety of ways that the relationship isn’t where it should, or could be. This is one of the joys of knowing Him!

While I will always love this ‘job’ the Lord has given to me, the longer I’m a Christian and in ministry, I’ve noticed lately the more it hurts my heart for the Lord to read the things people in the Mormon Church say about Him. I used to say all the time that I couldn’t be more shocked about something I had read, but I learned about 20 years ago to stop thinking such things.

And that brings us to where we’re at for today!

During my everyday, regular type of research over the past few weeks, I’ve come upon some off-the-wall, random descriptions LDS leaders have said about different topics, i.e., gods, polygamy, race, blood atonement, et al. In light of my findings, don’t be surprised in the next several days if you see some of the things we’ve found!

Today the subject matter is about the god Mormons choose to worship.

stickman thinking 3Mormonism teaches upon exaltation, men will become gods of their own planets. See Mormon Dilemma 384.

Brigham Young taught that after men receive their own planet, they’re able to procreate with an exalted goddess wife, and beget spirit children.

Journal of Discourses 6:275; “After men have got their exaltations and their crowns—have become Gods, even the sons of God—are made Kings of kings and Lords of lords, they have the power then of propagating their species in spirit; and that is the first of their operations with regard to organizing a world.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, August 28, 1852

Mormon Decisions 10Young Women Manual 2, “Lesson 29: Exaltation,” p. 108; “What blessings await those who live worthy of exaltation? (Godhood, having all things subject to them, having angels subject to them, having all power, living with Jesus.) Point out that just as Jesus Christ was promised all that the Father has, we can also receive all power and dominion, becoming creators of other spirits and other worlds.”

The Way to Heaven

Teachings of the Presidents of the Church, pg 8; “Only the valiant will be exalted and receive the highest degree of glory, hence ‘many are called, but few are chosen.’ (D&C 121:40.) As the Savior put it, ‘. . . strait is the gate, and narrow the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.’ And conversely, ‘. . . wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.’ (Matt. 7:13, 14.)” – Spencer W. Kimball
