 1 Thessalonians 4:8 “He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.”

mailbagOur Bible verse today is the one of the reasons for this ministry. The good Lord has always been able to lovingly remind me of what He saved me from by working for Him and the world of Mormonism.

The e-mails today are actually some of the comments we receive on our blog and website. If/when you might have a few moments we could really use the help of our dear Christian friends in responding to all those who write to us! The website gets a lot of traffic, and the blog gets its fair share, but not nearly the amount the website does.

The main thing we’re asking for is prayer! Please, pray for the Mormons who write in won’t you? More times than not, there’s a lot of anger going on in their hearts and as you’ll see in what we’ve included here, today’s no different.

Also pray for us here at LAM!  We’re becoming pretty busy with the comments, articles, e-mails and phone calls so we could use prayer. I’ll always be convinced the Lord hears us when we pray and provides!

Thanks so much my faithful friends!

PS: I have not changed any of the spelling or grammar in the notes.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

Galatians 4:16; “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”

mailbagToday we’re looking at an e-mail we received a couple of days ago. The young man’s note sounds like many of the other Mormon e-mails we’ve received in the past.

Our first question to the young man is also the same question we ask every time we get something like this:

Why do you feel the need to lie?

mailbagWe’ve received a lot of e-mails lately and thought we’d share one of those today! First, and foremost, please, remember to pray for these dear people won’t you? I know, I know, I keep yammerin’ on about this, but I know for a fact prayer does work, thus my friendly reminders! 😉 Originally we were going to list some of the others, but this one is a bit long, so we’ll be listing others throughout the week!

FYI, you can read this one on our Life After Ministries site by clicking on the link below –

This e-mail came in as a response to our post ‘Tip of the Day July 24th’. We’re listing the original post, followed by the response of the Mormon who wrote in (Chris), and then our reply.

July 24 – Isaiah 9:6; “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

_____

There isn’t one part of this verse the Mormon Church accepts as truth.  Everything their church is built upon is diametrically opposed to this truth.  July 24th is considered an almost holy day to the Mormon.  It’s when the pioneers settled into Utah.  The foundation of their beliefs began to spread like wildfire from this time forward.

_____

Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 1:103; “He also taught that, literally, God is our Father; that men are of the same race-the race called humans; and that God, the Progenitor, or Creator, is the Father of the human race. “In the image of his own body, male and female, created he them, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created and became living souls in the land upon the footstool of God.

It is a doctrine common to the Latter-day Saints, that God, the Great Elohim, is the First, or Creator, of the human family.”

mailbagWe receive a lot of e-mails and comments here at the ministry via private notes, and through our sites which more times than not, make me sad for the blindness many people have chosen to impair themselves with.

Having said that, every once in awhile we receive comments that immediately stop me in my tracks. The examples we’re listing below are just such a case. You see, for me personally you can say anything you want about me or the articles we produce and it’s like water off a duck’s back. When you malign the Lord or His word, you’ve taken it to another level that downright frightens me for your soul.

mailbagWe’re changing things up a little today and in lieu of the Mormon Dilemma we’re posting some of the latest correspondence we’ve received here at the ministry.

I’m borrowing from Oswald Chambers’ devotional for March 18th. For this day Mr. Chambers asked the question –

‘Am I forming the mind of Christ, Who never spoke from His right to Himself, but maintained an inner watchfulness whereby He continually submitted His spirit to His Father?’

“It’s just so refreshing to see that Life After Ministries’ main purpose is to bash another religion. How Christian of you. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. If the tables were turned, you would be so offended, but you are obviously not too worried about causing offense and harm to a targeted religion. It’s at least good to know that that targeted religion isn’t treating you that way. Very classy of you, Life After Ministries, very classy.” – Anita

mailbagThe comment above was in response to an article (Testifying of Joe Smith) that we posted on Facebook this past weekend. The reason we’re reposting this Mormon’s reaction on our sites is to ask our Christian prayer warriors to hit their knees!

mailbagWe received an e-mail from a less than honest and obviously angry Mormon whose name is ‘Geoff’.  He commented on our article ‘Mormon Temple Clothing and Other Rituals’.

We wanted to share his note and our response with our readers over on the blog so we can take advantage of a larger group of prayer warriors so here it is!

Geoff’s comments are in black and my response is in red.

BTW, Geoff wrote in twice so we’ll be addressing both his concerns here. One more thing – I’ve not corrected his spelling so if you’re a stickler on this, know that I didn’t let it go unchecked.

mailbagA few weeks ago I posted an article in response to an e-mail we received on the site about our stats on suicides in Utah.

Unfortunately I overlooked the fact that I should have posted a link to my article as a response to John in the comments section…sigh… We heard back from him just a few days ago so once again I’m responding with another article and yep, this time around I’ll be sure to provide a link in the reply section of our comments.

mailbagI received a comment on our other site @ Life After I thought was worthy of highlighting.  What was telling about this note is the ‘assumption’ I’ve not done my homework. The article he took umbrage with is listed first and then his note.  John’s note is in black font. My response to him is in red;

mailbagWe’re off to a busy start in December with the Christmas season upon us and there seems to be a rise in the amount of e-mails we’re receiving as well.  I’ve included a few of those here so please pray the ones I’ve listed and pray for the private notes we receive from Mormons who don’t want their correspondence shared publicly.

mailbagHere are the latest e-mails from Mormons who write to us!  We’re posting these so you can come alongside us and pray for them as well.  They’ve all come in via the site and blog.

Above all else please know we’re not here to bash the Mormon people or to ridicule them. Our hearts are broken that they believe the lies of the evil one and pray daily they come to know the real Jesus!

Thanks for praying!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

mailbagBelow are a couple of the e-mails we’ve received this week.  The 2nd e-mail is actually part of an ongoing conversation with what looks like an LDS missionary. It’s not often we receive e-mails from LDS men referring to themselves as “elder” if they’re not a missionary.  It could be this gentleman isn’t one, but we doubt it. We’re asking everyone to continue praying for those who write in. We know simply from our own lives that He can and does save!  Thank You Jesus!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

mailbagHere at the ministry the Lord has blessed me with the best job I could’ve ever dreamt of having.

We/I get to minister to people leaving Mormonism by introducing them to a local church in their area in addition to leading Bible studies and providing mentors to those who request someone.

Well the other day I received an e-mail from a very sweet woman named Diane who wrote to tell me about her experience at the Christian bible study she attended earlier that evening.

Here’s the 2nd part of the e-mail from our Mormon friend Shane!  Remember to pray for him and the other Mormons who read this!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

1 Cor 1:18

Shane’s e-mail is in red font, my response is in black –

September 21–22, 1823. Joseph Smith was visited by an angel named Moroni. Moroni prophesied of coming events and told Joseph of the Book of Mormon record, written on plates of gold. The angel allowed Joseph to see the gold plates, which were buried in the nearby Hill Cumorah.

September 22, 1827. Joseph Smith received the gold plates from Moroni at the Hill Cumorah after having met with Moroni on 22 September of each of the previous four years.

Why the LDS Church is True

(According to an e-mail I received)

     While I receive many e-mails for the ministry, one that caught my attention the most came from a Mormon a while back by the name of Shane.  In his 15 page defense of the Church, a common theme ran throughout which has prompted this reply. I still use this e-mail as a response to other Mormons who write in with the exact copy & paste reasons the Church is true.

     This Mormon took it upon himself to copy and paste a large section from the LDS website to let us know why the Church is true.

     As the Christian will see, the reasoning he employs is lacking in spiritual maturity by using their (the LDS) defense.  His spiritual condition doesn’t promote ridicule on our part, but once again begs for empathy from those of us who’ve walked the same path.  It saddens me he can’t or won’t stop long enough to compile his own reasons for trusting the LDS Church.  Instead it’s a copy and paste world in the minds of many Mormons.  The way he responded also reminds me of a common response we see with many Mormons.

     For instance, when asked where the proof is that someone like Nephi existed they’ll ask what proof there is the apostles existed. Instead of answering the question with definitive answer about Nephi, they attack the Bible.

 E-mails October 16 2012

Here are some more e-mails to share with our readers what we’re seeing!  Remember to pray!

From: judy
Subject: question

I recently went to a Baptism in the Mormon church.  I am curious why everyone, and i mean everyone, folds their arms over their midsection during prayer.  I asked my brother and sister-in-law, but it was such a ridiculous answer, I just dismissed it.  It kind of looks like a self hug.

Thanks….judy

Mormon E-mails

I thought I’d post an e-mail I received this morning because it reminded me of the posts we found on the website that wasn’t fond of Melissa’s article.

I’m thinking the theme of General Conference must’ve been on the supposed fear of ex-Mormons.

Here’s the e-mail and my response afterwards.  Remember to pray!

Mormon E-mails

First things first.  I’m asking our Christian friends to pray for those who’ve written into the ministry!  Each time I receive an e-mail I view it as a reminder to me from the Lord of what He did for me and how He literally saved my life. I’ve only listed the exchanges I’ve had with two Mormons, but will post the rest of them as we get time!

With that in mind here is another installment of a few Mormon e-mails.  Don’t forget to pray!

Mormon E-mails November 2011

The Mormon e-mails we’ve received in the past couple of months have been brutal.  I’m asking all our Christian friends and supporters to lift us in prayer during this time and pray for the Mormons as well.  For whatever reasons their correspondence with us has been less than stellar in the Christian values they claim to espouse.
