Acts 4:12; “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

salt lake mormon temple 2 Mormon Doctrine, p. 472; “Full salvation is attained by virtue of knowledge, truth, righteousness, and all true principles. Many conditions must exist in order to make such salvation available to men…If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation. There is no salvation outside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 2, pp. 1-350.)” – Bruce R. McConkie

reflections on Christ - crucifixionThe title of our post today actually serves as the question we have for Mormons. Why did Jesus shed His blood? Some might say it’s the most important question there is in all the world. Let’s explore God’s word…

In the book of Matthew, Jesus spoke about this very subject  –

Matthew 26:28 “ …this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”

Our question for the Mormon is: Why?

Why was blood necessary?

Hebrews 9:22 “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

John 14:15; “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

Teachings of Heber J. Grant, Chapter 3, Walking in the Path That Leads to Life Eternal, p. 32; Heber Grant“There is but one path of safety for the Latter-day Saints, and that is the path of duty. It is not a testimony only; it is not marvelous manifestations; it is not knowing that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, that it is the plan of salvation—it is not actually knowing that the Savior is the Redeemer, and that Joseph Smith was his prophet, that will save you and me; but it is the keeping of the commandments of God, living the life of a Latter-day Saint.”

salt lake mormon temple 2Ensign, ‘Trust In the Lord,’ November 1995; “The Lord’s plan is to exalt you to live with Him and be greatly blessed. The rate at which you qualify is generally set by your capacity to mature, to grow, to love, and to give of yourself. He is preparing you to be a god. You cannot understand fully what that means, yet, He knows.” – Richard G. Scott

Witnessing Tip of the Day June 01June 23 Jesus said the two most important things to observe is to love the Lord with all your heart and love others as yourself. The only ordinances for a Christian is the Lord’s Supper (communion), and baptism.
