January 30 — Sins Forgiven with a W-2. James 5:2-4 “Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. 4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.” (more…)

January 19 — Book of Joseph. Testing for Truth, Part 3; “Many people refuse to use the Bible as a standard for truth. They will often claim that the Bible is not trustworthy, after all, it’s thousands of years old, and it’s probably been corrupted over the years…
If someone claims that the Bible has been corrupted, they have immediately revealed themselves to be a false teacher. Consider this, why would God give us scripture as a means to test teachers, allow that scripture to become corrupted, and then send us another teacher, with no means to test him?
If God had allowed scriptures to become corrupted, and their meanings lost, then we would cease to have any way of knowing God’s truth. For even if after this supposed corruption God were to send a prophet to restore truth, how would we know that it is indeed truth, with no test, anything this prophet says is suspect.
If God were to allow scriptures to become corrupted, that would make it impossible for us to know when He speaks to us. There simply would be no way of knowing if a person is a true prophet of God, or a false prophet teaching doctrines of demons, as any conflict with scripture can simply be excused with the accusation of corruption.” (more…)

January 16 — Are Mormons Christians? Today we’re looking at a subject in the LDS Gospel Topic Section of their website. I’ve become quite enamored with how the Bible provides answers to topics that speak directly to contemporary issues for us today. It’s a reminder that God obviously knew beforehand! Notice in their statement they make the accusation that sincere seekers of truth will accept their variant belief. Furthermore, freedom to worship as you please doesn’t mean you’re exempt from following rules. If you’re not worshiping the right Jesus, it still means you’re not Christian, regardless of what freedoms you may or may not have. Pray that God will open their hearts to this truth! (more…)
Tip of the Day January 15 — Ashtoreth

January 15 — Ashtoreth. Today ask the Mormon in your life for their opinion about their Heavenly Mother. Then ask if they’ve ever heard of Ashtoreth. Be sure you explain with demonstrative evidence (Bible and a dictionary) who this false goddess was, and why Israel was always in trouble for worshiping her. Without being judgmental towards them, ask if they see the correlation between their Heavenly Mother and Ashtoreth. To get a clear idea of who the Mormons believe she is, see our article ‘Heavenly Mother’. (more…)

January 14 — Astrology. You’ll find a host of many rules for Mormons written in encyclopedic works like Mormon Doctrine & Encyclopedia of Mormonism. However, the everyday Mormon rarely follows what they say, if they’ve even heard of them. Occult activities is a classic example. Reading a horoscope is no big deal for most Mormons, and even Joe Smith was known for his strong reliance upon it. Mormon Portraits, p. 19. Ask the Mormon in your life if they’ve been told these things are condemned in the Bible! (more…)

Tip of the Day January 12 — Ancient of Days

January 12 — Ancient of Days. There are some names and phrases in the Bible that catches our immediate attention and Ancient of Days qualifies. The words bring a sense of reverence, giving us pause to stop and wonder. The passage in Daniel paints a picture like none other; the flaming throne is judgment, and the white hair and title ‘Ancient’ denotes God who has existed before time began (Is 43:10). It puts it all in perspective for us eh? It puts us in a position of knowing who’s in charge! Sadly, it’s anything but in Mormonism. They’ve gone out of their way to malign the Lord and twist scripture in ways unheard of before. (more…)

January 11— Alpha. This is the first letter of the Greek alphabet which originates from the Hebrew. There’s no contraction of this because it’s simply a letter, and neither are there any derivatives. The same can be said for the last letter of the Greek alphabet, ‘Omega’. Revelation 1:8; “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” (more…)
