Oh Mitt, Mitt, Mitt, Mitt, Mitt…

During the debate in Iowa tonight (December 10, 2011) Mr. Romney told the audience and all of America that he served as a pastor for his church.

My how quickly the tide turns in the world of changing vocabulary with the Mormons.

Mitt Romney has NEVER and I do mean NEVER been a pastor in his church. There are NO PASTORS IN MORMONISM.

Bishop, yes, pastor no.

Nice try Mitt. Throwing out Christian terminology in the Midwest looks good, but lying looks worse than just telling the plain ol’ truth.

Why can’t you just tell the truth?

Today I’m wondering how the Mormon Church can believe Mary was still a virgin when Jesus was born if they believe the following about the whole born of a virgin scenario…

The following list of teachings from the LDS Church tells the real truth about the belief system in Mormonism. When the Mormons say He is Jesus Christ the Son of God after the manner of the flesh, this is what they’re referring to.

Humble Following or Misguided Trust?

The lengths to which members of the LDS Church will go never ceases to amaze me when defending the position they take about Joseph Smith. I could write volumes upon volumes of books containing testimonials of how wonderful Mr. Smith is and if it weren’t for Mr. Smith then no one could be saved.

The Twelve Apostles

Right now I’m watching a sermon by John MacArthur on the 12 apostles (link below). As I watch it I can’t help but think about the Mormon 12 and how completely different these two groups of men are. Jesus’ 12 were taught at his feet and then were sent out by him to proclaim salvation is only through Him. They went out to share the gospel with nothing, they healed people, anointed the sick, and cast out demons. They did what Jesus did, they had all the power Jesus did over these things. 2 Corinthians 12:12 reads “The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with all perseverance, by signs and wonders and miracles. “

The Mormon 12 are called by their prophet, they preach a false gospel of works, receive the rock star treatment when they travel and haven’t healed anyone. Where are their signs, wonders and miracles?

Romney and Huntsman Glaringly Absent in Iowa Family Leader Forum

Where were Mitt Romney and/or Jon Hunstman yesterday and why weren’t they at the Christian church in Iowa with all the other Republican candidates?

Ironically enough the name of the conference was “Family Leader Forum”. Mormons are all about families, right?

I have to wonder…did they not go because it was held inside a Christian church or was it because they might be asked about their faith? When I was a Mormon (for 30 yrs no less) it was drilled into me not to step foot in a Christian church or bookstore.

Who holds the keys to the priesthood in the LDS Church?

The Mormon Apostle Bruce McConkie had this to say about the keys of Mormon priesthood;

“President Joseph F. Smith said: “What is a key?’ It is the right or privilege which belongs to and comes with the priesthood to have communication with God. Is not that a key? Most decidedly. We may not enjoy the blessings, or key, very much, but the key is in the priesthood. It is the right to enjoy the blessing of communication with the heavens, and the privilege and authority to administer in the ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ…You who hold the priesthood have the key or the authority, the right, the power or privilege to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ…” (Gospel Doctrine, 5th ed., p. 142.)” – Mormon Doctrine, pg. 410
