Luke 5:12-14 “And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. 14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.”

Acts 6:7 “And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”

Restoration of the Gospel “The gospel of Jesus Christ was lost from the earth through the apostasy that took place following the earthly ministry of Christ’s Apostles. That apostasy made necessary the Restoration of the gospel. Through visions, the ministering of angels, and revelations to men on the earth, God restored the gospel. The Restoration started with the Prophet Joseph Smith (JS—H 1; D&C 128:20–21) and has continued to the present through the work of the Lord’s living prophets.” – LDS.org (more…)

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.Matthew 16:18

Today beloved, we’re taking a look at the way Satan tries to divert attention from the cherished assurances our dear Lord promised 2,000 years ago.

This is one of the top reasons why I left my heritage. I can still see the words on the pages of my Bible as I read what Jesus had to say when I was all of ten years old. It was then that I began praying for Jesus to send Christians to Utah. Today each time I speak at a church, the very first thing I bring up is the miracle my eyes are beholding as I scan over the audience.

Each Christian is walking proof Joseph Smith lied.

Every summer for the past 40+ years, the LDS Church has hosted Broadway-type productions known as ‘pageants’ which are reenactments of key moments in Mormon history. One year (1997) even the famed Mormon, Donny Osmond, participated in the Palmyra production. (more…)

“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” Matthew 28:6

Have you ever wondered what part/parts, of the Bible Mormons would need to toss if Joe Smith’s claims were true? According to his theory the entire world had abandoned the One True God of the Bible. We see the claim of a fourteen year old kid in the following declaration –

Joseph Smith-History: 1:18-19 “My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. … 19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me…””

Before we take Smith’s word for this shocking turn of Christian events, consider the following statements of Jesus. The first one listed below has always been of great comfort to all Christians. Smith’s claim would mean Jesus didn’t pray for us —

John 17:20 “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.” (more…)

This past weekend Kirk, and I had the opportunity to share our testimonies, and provide info on Mormonism at our church. (We’ll post pictures as soon as our daughter gets them to us!)

After the class, people shared stories as they usually do, of their own experience with Mormonism.

A common thread they spoke of was how people they knew who had joined suddenly became like strangers. I explained it has to do with the way Mormonism looks at Christianity.  (more…)

Have you been born again? Joel 2:28-32; “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.”

Acts 2:17-21; “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Romans 10:13; “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Cross of Jesus1If you run a search on the internet for the characteristics of true Christianity, you’ll find a plethora of opinions! One recurring theme I kept seeing is a list of four main characteristics the majority of the body of Christ agrees upon, thus identifying them as a traditional (‘orthodox’) Christian.

It should come as no surprise the LDS Church has rejected all four. Its adherents quickly adopted Joseph Smith’s dogma without the blink of an eye, and regrettably, have done so ever since. Here are the four characteristics –
