Achieving a Celestial Marriage, p. 4 “Man has descended from God; in fact, he is the same race as the Gods. His descent has not been from a lower form of life, but from the Highest Form of Life; in other words, man is, in the most literal sense, a Child of God. This is not only true of the spirit of man, but of his body also.” — LDS President John Taylor, Also found in Course of Study for Priests, 1910. p.35 (more…)

January 27 — Council of gods. Isaiah 40:12-13; “Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? 13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?” (more…)
Interview with Mormon Missionaries

The other day I came across a video on YouTube of a Christian Pastor interviewing two Mormon missionaries. He asked them many questions about some of the core, deeper doctrines of Mormonism, and was told things that you probably won’t hear from the missionaries when they come to your door. Throughout the interview, the missionaries were very polite and cordial and seemed to do their best to answer the questions he asked them.
I’d like to go through some of the questions and content of the interview. I’ll make sure to link the video along with time stamps of where the question was asked so you can hear their answers for yourself.
(Just a reminder before you watch the video, anytime a Mormon uses the phrase “the gospel of Jesus Christ” they are referring to the Mormon gospel, not the biblical gospel.) (more…)
Joseph Smith’s Family of Gods

Yesterday we saw Russell Nelson proclaim his delight in Joe Smith’s insights regarding the Bible, and how they were ‘amazingly consistent’.
Today we’re wondering how Mr. Nelson would explain Smith’s false prophecy in calling God a liar…
The very foundation of Mormonism declares God’s word to be wrong, and therefore, all of Christianity has been worshiping the wrong God.
History of the Church 6:305-306 “It is necessary we should understand the character and being of God and how he came to be so; for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see.
These are incomprehensible ideas to some, but they are simple. It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God, and to know that we may converse with him as one man converses with another, and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did….
Here, then, is eternal life—to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all gods have done before you, namely, by going from one small degree to another, and from a small capacity to a great one; from grace to grace, from exaltation to exaltation, until you attain to the resurrection of the dead, and are able to dwell in everlasting burnings, and to sit in glory, as do those who sit enthroned in everlasting power.” — Joseph Smith, April 1844 (more…)

Today we’re looking at excerpts from a member of the early LDS Church; George Laub. He was a devoted follower, and his loyalty to Smith’s ideologies is unfortunately, all too apparent. You can find this excerpt at the link below, and also at George Laub’s Journal, Book of Abraham Project (BOAP), pp.16-17.
[Spelling as in original.]
The Words of Joseph Smith, p. 382; “George Laub Journal. The Scripture Say I and my father are one & again that the father son & holy ghost are one I John 5 ch. 7 vers But these three agree in the Same thing & did the Saviour pray to the father.
I pray not for the world but those [w]home he gave me out of the world that we might be one, or to Say be of one mind in the unity of the faith but Every one being a diffrent or Seperate person & So is god & is god & Jesus Christ & the holy ghost. Mormon Gods Aplenty

New Era, ‘Testify of the Restoration,’ April 2017; “I testify that Jesus Christ is God’s Son in the flesh as well as in the Spirit, Himself a God and the Son of a God—the Only Begotten of the Father and the Savior of all mankind.” – Jeffrey Holland [emp. mine]
Mormon Doctrine, p. 409; “Plurality of Gods … Three separate personages — Father, Son, and Holy Ghost — comprise the Godhead. As each of these persons is a God, it is evident, from this standpoint alone, that a plurality of Gods exists. To us, speaking in the proper finite sense, these three are the only Gods we worship. But in addition there is an infinite number of holy personages, drawn from worlds without number, who have passed on to exaltation and are thus gods.” – Bruce R. McConkie [emp. mine]

February 6 – Exaltation. Paul told us in 2 Thess. 2:4-8 those who exalts himself to sit on the throne of God would be revealed as a man of sin. It’s the man of wickedness who does this and then the Lord will “consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming”.

Life of Joseph the Prophet, p. 514; “It has been my intention for a long time,” he said, “to take up this subject and lay it clearly before the people, and show what my faith is in relation to this interesting matter. And if it rains I will preach this doctrine, for the truth shall be preached. I will preach the plurality of Gods. I have selected this text for that express purpose. I wish to declare, I have always and in all congregations, when I have preached on the subject of Deity, proclaimed the plurality of Gods.” – Edward W. Tullidge

October 9 – Birth of polytheism in LDS Church. 1 Corinthians 15:45-47; “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”

Acts 20:28-30; “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”
ZOHAR is our topic for today.
Do you know what it is?
At Joseph Smith’s last General Conference, he delivered his infamous ‘King Follett Discourse’. This of course was the funeral sermon for one of their devoted members, King Follett, who passed away unexpectedly.
After giving the perfunctory condolences like at any funeral, Smith wasted no time introducing his true agenda to the growing group of followers. Polytheism. From that point on the entire belief structure of Mormonism was changed – again. This sermon, delivered on April 7, 1844, was a game changer for all things Mormon as it marched the Saints further down the road of total depravity in their self-induced apostasy.
The Family of Mormon Gods

Journal of Discourses 1:57; “The Son is called God, and so is the Father, and in some places the Holy Ghost is called God. They are one in power, in wisdom, in knowledge, and in the inheritance of celestial glory; they are one in their works; they possess all things, and all things are subject to them; they act in unison; and if one has power to become the Father of spirits, so has another; if one God can propagate his species, and raise up spirits after his own image and likeness, and call them his sons and daughters, so can all other Gods that become like him, do the same thing; consequently, there will be many Fathers, and there will be many families, and many sons and daughters; and they will be the children of those glorified, celestial beings that are counted worthy to be Gods.” – Orson Pratt, Great Salt Lake City, August 29, 1852
