December 3 – Matthew 1:19-20; “Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.”

Joseph Smith: Song of Solomon not Inspired
Posted in Bible, tagged bible, false prophet Joseph Smith, Song of Solomon on 10/19/2015| 1 Comment »
‘…The Songs of Solomon are not inspired writings…For some unknown reason the manuscript of the inspired translation contains no mention of the book of Ecclesiastes…Failure to include Ecclesiastes was probably an oversight…’
Ensign, ‘I Have a Question,’ October 1973; “When the Prophet Joseph Smith intently studied the Bible and made his inspired translation, did he say anything concerning the various books of the Old Testament that would suggest either their special importance or lesser value?

Journal of Discourses 1:108-109; “If you want to know what to do
with a thief that you may find stealing, I say kill him on the spot, and never suffer him to commit another iniquity. I will prove by my works whether I can mete out justice to such persons, or not. I would consider it just as much my duty to do that, as to baptize a man for the remission of his sins.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, May 8, 1853

September 19 – Matthew 17:1-5; “And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.”

September 18 – John 14:1-3; “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

The amazing part of this scripture is what Jesus didn’t say. He said nothing about making homes for us and our ‘family unit’. I cannot imagine thinking that Jesus alone just isn’t enough.

They say the bad thing about telling a lie is having to remember everything you said. Apparently Joe Smith didn’t get the memo on that one.
Today we’re looking at three lies Mr. Smith tried to pass off as revelations from God, and in case you didn’t know, all three contradict each other. It’s strange considering he pronounced the Book of Mormon as the ‘most correct book on earth’…

September 10 – 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; ‘To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.’

How does the Church define ‘the first resurrection’?
Chances are, most Mormons wouldn’t know what their church teaches about this, and their prophet Joseph Smith didn’t make things easy for anyone.
Let’s take a look at what ol’ Joe had to say about the first resurrection, and then compare his words with what he wrote in the Book of Mormon –

Joe Smith is Head of Mormon Church, not Jesus

Doctrine and Covenants 28:2-6; “But, behold, verily, verily, I say unto thee, no one shall be appointed to receive commandments and revelations in
this church excepting my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., for he receiveth them even as Moses. 3 And thou shalt be obedient unto the things which I shall give unto him, even as Aaron, to declare faithfully the commandments and the revelations, with power and authority unto the church. 4 And if thou art led at any time by the Comforter to speak or teach, or at all times by the way of commandment unto the church, thou mayest do it. 5 But thou shalt not write by way of commandment, but by wisdom; 6 And thou shalt not command him who is at thy head, and at the head of the church.” – Joseph Smith, September 1830, Fayette, New York

Colossians 3:9; “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds.”
The LDS Church has gone out of its way lately to publicly denounce the sins of others in society, so we’re wondering when, or rather if, they’re ever going to publicly denounce their own.
Joe Smith was a busy guy with all the face to face meetings with God and subsequent prophecies he had to dole out. In addition to that, he had numerous obligations stemming from his position of self-anointed General, and being a husband to so many wives. It’s a wonder the guy ever had time to sleep!
