Waiting for World’s End: The Diaries of Wilford Woodruff, edited by Susan Staker, Signature Books, 1993, pg 305; “Again Presdet Young said Joseph the Prophet told me that the garden of Eden was in Jackson Co Missouri, & when Adam was driven out of the garden of Eden He went about 40 miles to the Place which we Named Adam Ondi Ahman, & there built an Altar of Stone & offered Sacrifize. That Altar remains to this day. I saw it as Adam left it as did many others, & through all the revolutions of the world that Altar had not been disturbed. Joseph also said that when the City of Enoch fled & was translated it was whare the gulf of Mexico now is. It left that gulf a body of water.” – Wilford Woodruff

Examining the Book of Mormon
Articles of Faith, pg 247; “…this book is entitled to the most thorough and impartial examination. Not only does the Book of Mormon merit such consideration, it claims, even demands the same; for no one professing belief in the power and authority of God can receive with unconcern the announcement of a new revelation, professedly bearing the seal of divine authority. The question of the authenticity of the Book of Mormon is therefore one in which the world is concerned.” – James E. Talmage

Today a friend alerted me to a post on her Facebook page about a movement that’s getting a fair amount of attention and most importantly; support. There’s a group of people who will be posting a 95 Point LDS Thesis on the doors of Mormon ward buildings on October 31, 2013. They call themselves the Mormon Reformation and their purpose is for the Church to come clean in everything from the top down.

Resurrection
Ensign, “The Resurrection of Jesus Christ”, April 1985; “Our belief is, and we so testify, that Jesus not only conquered death for himself and brought forth his own glorious resurrected body, but that in so doing he also brought about a universal resurrection. This was the end and purpose of the mission for which he was set apart and ordained in the great council in heaven, when he was chosen to be our Savior and Redeemer.” – Marion Romney

Journal of Discourses 3:354; “Elders, never love your wives one hair’s breadth further than they adorn the Gospel, never love them so but that you can leave them at a moment’s warning without shedding a tear. Should you love a child any more than this? No.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, June 15, 1856

Earning God’s Companionship
Young Women’s Manual 1, Living as a Daughter of God, 4: Seeking the Companionship of the Holy Ghost, Objective 13; “Remind the young women that their ability to hear the still, small voice of the Holy Ghost depends on their faithfulness to the Lord’s commandments. If they listen to the Holy Ghost, his promptings can be their greatest source of comfort and guidance, a constant companion. We need never be alone when we are worthy to receive the Holy Ghost.”

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not…
Ensign, We Serve That Which We Love, May 1981, pg 22; “The greatest example of love available to all of us is, of course, found in the scripture from John: ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son.’ (John 3:16.) By the greatest of all acts of love and by this supreme sacrifice, God set the pattern. He demonstrated to us that His love was unconditional and sufficient to encircle every person.”” – Apostle Marvin J. Ashton

Family Home Evening Resource Book, Lesson 13: Baptism and the Name of Christ, pg 52; “What does the word Christian mean to you?
Let your family discuss what being a Christian means today. Emphasize that because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of Christ, we have a great responsibility to live as Christians.”

“The Law and the Light,” Book of Mormon Symposium, BYU, October 30, 1988; “I declare the gospel to be both true and inclusive of every true element of any philosophy, indeed the gospel is a fulness of the truth in all of them…After the transformation caused by the Fall, bodies of flesh and bone and blood (unlike our spirit bodies), would not endure forever. Somehow the ingredient blood carried with it a limit to life. It was as though a clock were set and a time given. Thereafter, all living things moved inexorably toward mortal or temporal death. Temporal, I repeat, means temporary.” – Boyd K. Packer

Ensign, “A More Determined Discipleship”, February 1979, pg 70; “…not being ashamed of the of the gospel of Jesus Christ includes not being ashamed of the prophets of Jesus Christ…In some ways, our second estate, in relationship to our first estate, is like agreeing in advance to surgery. Then the anesthetic of forgetfulness settles in upon us. Just as doctors do not de-anesthetize a patient in the midst of authorized surgery to ask him again if the surgery should be continued, so, after divine tutoring, we agreed to come here and to submit ourselves to certain experiences; it was an irrevocable decision.” – Neal A. Maxwell

Heavenly Admins
Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg 367; “Every man that has been baptized and belongs to the kingdom has a right to be baptized for those who have gone before; and as soon as the law of the Gospel is obeyed here by their friends who act as proxy for them, the Lord has administrators there to set them free. A man may act as proxy for his own relatives; the ordinances of the Gospel which were laid out before the foundations of the world have thus been fulfilled by them, and we may be baptized for those whom we have much friendship for.”

Spirit World is Here, but Invisible
Key to the Science of Theology, pgs 129-130; “As to its [the spirit world] location, it is here on the very planet where we were born; or, in other words, the earth and other planets of a like sphere, have their inward or spiritual spheres, as well as their outward, or temporal.… A veil is drawn between the one sphere and the other, whereby all the objects in the spiritual sphere are rendered invisible to those in the temporal.” – Parley P.
