October 24 –– Jesus, not Joseph, is God’s Tender Shoot. Ezekiel 17:22-24; “Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent: 23 In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell. 24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it.”

Retro-engineering Joe Smith’s Plagiarism

In their routine fashion of diverting attention via means of confusion, the Church tweaked what it plagiarized from the prophet Isaiah.
The Church’s message on the importance of baptism has been stretched to its limit. They’ve made their canon so confusing, it’s difficult to determine which is worse – lying about the Israelites practice of baptism in the BC era (which they didn’t do), or retro-engineering what Joe Smith plagiarized from Isaiah’s prophecy.
Let’s sort this out to you can lovingly share this with the Mormon you know, and give demonstrative evidence of why their canon was written to confuse them.
Here’s what the original Book of Mormon said –
1830 Book of Mormon, p. 52; “Hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the Lord . . .” [emp. mine]

God’s promise fulfilled. Malachi 4:6; “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
Luke 1:16-17; “And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. 17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

1 Thessalonians 5:21 “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
I’ve always been fascinated at how the word of the Lord provides just the right verse, or passage needed for any given situation. Today’s example is case in point! It’s important, beloved, to show the dear Mormon why their canon is flawed. Equally important is the method of how we’re to share this important info.
There’s a passage in the BoM you can lovingly share with a Mormon showing why their canon wasn’t inspired of God. There’s simply no way events in Helaman took place and were repeated in the 19th century in Joe Smith’s backyard.

Matthew 24:23-24; “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
In the ‘70’s members of the LDS Church were fed a steady diet of faith promoting idioms that were to be kept at the forefront of their memory banks. One of those promoted at that time was ‘lengthen your stride’, which meant ‘go on a mission’, and the other still alive and well in my personal memory bank: only Mormons were the ‘elect’ of God.
The idea was facilitated to boost a Mormon’s feelings of camaraderie amongst other Mormons, or so I was told. The downside? It served to instill a superiority complex. For many who leave the Church, the sudden reality of who they thought they were, and the Church’s history, is rather stark.
One of the startling realities is discovering all the unanswered prophecies proclaimed by none other than Joe Smith.
When Joe Smith and Oliver Cowdery finished translating their script in June 1829, the long list of messes they made would keep people busy for centuries to come. Case in point, us, and our subject matter today.
Did you know that Smith never did have a translation for the following five words in the BoM?

Racist Book of Mormon Changes

Several days ago I came across an archived Salt Lake Trib article outlining significant
changes in two chapter headings for the BoM. Included in Peggy Stack’s report were comments provided by a few noteworthy people; all of which are LDS.
To read article in full, see Church removes racial references in Book of Mormon headings. Their changes are in the chart below.
Now, contrary to the comments in the Trib article, the only reason for the changes is abundantly clear. They’re trying to cover up blatantly racist doctrines still plaguing the Church today. Although they tried to shift blame onto Bruce McConkie for the unacceptable chapter headings, they’re left without excuse. He’s an easy out simply because he’s deceased.
