February 22 – God warns us about false prophets in Deut. 13:6-9; “If thy brother, the son of they mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou has no known, thou, nor thy father; Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him…”

December 18 – “Ruler whose goings forth from everlasting”. Micah 5:2; “But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”
Plagiarizing Esther and Mark for Half a Kingdom

Esther 5:3; “Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.”
Young Woman’s Journal: V 2, No. 10, July 1891, p. 466
“OUR SUNDAY CHAPTER. WORDS AND INCIDENTS OF THE PROPHET JOSEPH’S LIFE. Springville, Utah, May, 1891.
…On one occasion while the prophet was waiting for his boots to be repaired by my brother Dimick in Nauvoo he indulged in recounting personal services rendered him by Dimick; he exhibited his gratitude and greatness of soul in this way:
He said, “Now, Dimick, in return for such acts, you may ask of me what you will and it shall be given you, even if it be to the half of my kingdom.”
Dimick told it to me, and said that in thinking what he should ask for, decided he would not ask for anything that would impoverish Joseph, nor would he ask for worldly honors or goods, but made this request:
“Brother Joseph, I want that where you and your father’s house are (having reference to eternity) there I and my father’s house may be also.”
Joseph sat in meditation but a moment, and then said, “Dimick, in the name of Jesus Christ it shall be even as you ask.’” – Yours truly, O. B. Huntington

Fullness of Time vs. Meridian of Time

Galatians 4:4 “But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law.”
Today we’re comparing two different phrases; the ‘fullness of time’, and the ‘meridian of time’. The former comes from God’s word, the latter from the imagination of Joseph Smith.
We want to know why God sent His Son at this exact time, and what impact it had on mankind, then and now.
Let’s take a look at what our Lord says beloved, so we can know more about Him!

James 2:19; “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”
While updating some info on our sites, I came across a sad reminder of what the everyday life of a Mormon would be like. I was updating the section on plagiarisms found in the Book of Mormon and adding to the seemingly never-ending list of new ‘finds’.
The list of speculations on where Smith retrieved his info to produce the Book of Mormon, is as numerous as the day is long. From Spaulding to Shakespeare, and View of the Hebrews to events in early America, there’s plenty of fodder from which to choose. One thing is certain, we can pinpoint a key resource he chose to plagiarize, and that’s the Bible.

January 11 – Alpha. This is the first letter of the Greek alphabet which originates from the Hebrew. There’s no contraction of this because it’s simply a letter, and neither are there any derivatives. The same can be said for the last letter of the Greek alphabet, ‘Omega’. Revelation 1:8; “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

Joseph Smith’s Role in the Life of Mormons

Today we’re beginning a two part series on how vitally important Joseph Smith is to the corporation of the LDS Church, and the necessity of having him as the focus of everyday life for each member. Without Joseph Smith, members would have no means of gaining true salvation, and without Joseph Smith, the Church as a corporation would have no foundational basis to stand on.
The reason we’re doing this stems from the numerous articles they’ve published as of late. While perusing their many media portals, magazines and websites for example, we couldn’t help but notice their heavy emphasis on commemorating Smith’s birth (December 23, 1805), while merely giving Jesus an honorable mention on occasion; when, or if needed.
Today’s example serves as a culmination of sorts, for all the many adjectives they believe Smith fulfilled by just being born. Before we look at the many ways Smith fulfilled most of the promises in the Bible, let’s step back and look at what God has to say about Himself.

What comes to mind when you think of the phrase ‘and so forth’?
Visually speaking, I think of someone using their hand to brush something aside when they don’t have, or they don’t want to take the time, to finish a sentence. It’s like the equivalent of ‘blah, blah, blah’.
The Free Dictionary defines ‘and so forth’ this way;
‘with additional related or similar things mentioned (but not specified)’

generally supposed that sacrifice was entirely done away when the Great Sacrifice [i.e.,] the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus was offered up, and that there will be no necessity for the ordinance of sacrifice in future; but those who assert this are certainly not acquainted with the duties, privileges and authority of the Priesthood, or with the Prophets.
The offering of sacrifice has ever been connected and forms a part of the duties of the Priesthood. It began with the Priesthood, and will be continued until after the coming of Christ….

Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith, (2011), Chapter 27: ‘Beware the Bitter Fruits of Apostasy,’ pp. 315–26;
“There is a superior intelligence bestowed upon such as obey the Gospel with full purpose of heart, which, if sinned against, the apostate is left naked and destitute of the Spirit of God, and he is, in truth, nigh unto cursing, and his end is to be burned. When once that light which was in them is taken from them they become as much darkened as they were previously enlightened, and then, no marvel, if all their power should be enlisted against the truth, and they, Judas-like, seek the destruction of those who were their greatest benefactors.”

And he knoweth their faith, for in his name could they remove mountains; and in his name could they cause the earth to shake; and by the power of his word did they cause prisons to tumble to the earth; yea, even the fiery furnace could not harm them, neither wild beasts nor poisonous serpents, because of the power of his word.”

A few days ago I came upon an interesting journal written by Levi Hancock’s son, Mosiah, which got me thinking about one of the essays published by the Church last year (Oct. 2014).
In this essay the Church came out with their own version of history on polygamy in Kirtland and Nauvoo that we found to be full of lies and half truths. Shocker, I know!
In my underwhelmed reaction to their essays in general, I’m wondering just what they were thinking by publishing something like this. Look, we all do things in life in order to get something out of it. For me personally, I have this ministry to see people come to the Lord, and we all do simple stuff like work to earn money, do laundry to have clean clothes, cook to have dinner, etc.

D&C 121:8, 10-12, 14-15; “And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes. 10 Thou art not yet as Job; thy friends do not contend against thee, neither charge thee with transgression, as they did Job. 11 And they who do charge thee with transgression, their hope shall be blasted, and their prospects shall melt away as the hoar frost melteth before the burning rays of the rising sun; 12 And also that God hath set his hand and seal to change the times and seasons, and to blind their minds, that they may not understand his marvelous workings; that he may prove them also and take them in their own craftiness; 14 That they may be disappointed also, and their hopes may be cut off; 15 And not many years hence, that they and their posterity shall be swept from under heaven, saith God, that not one of them is left to stand by the wall.” – March 20, 1839
