1 John 2:9; “He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.”

3-in-1The extra-biblical canon of Mormonism reveals many reasons why the LDS Church isn’t a Christian organization, and our focus today is on one of those reasons.

The racist narrative found in Mormon canon is unlike anything God would condone. The Lord created all men (Gen. 3:20) and from the first two people He created (Adam & Eve), all humanity sprang. See Answeringgenesis.org for more info on the different ‘races’ of mankind.

1 Timothy 2:5; “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

Hugh_Nibleysalt lake mormon temple 2Ancient Documents and the Pearl of Great Price, p.13–14; “…And then there is another deep sleep. He woke from a deep sleep in the first place when he woke up being Adam after being Michael. And now he goes into another deep sleep. Then he wakes up and finds Eve there. Now it’s time to be properly married. This life ends with another sleep. Notice, it says a deep sleep, a passage. He marries Eve in the covenant, verse 22 following. They are very close, as close as you can get here. The rib in Arabic is the urka or silka. It is the expression for anything as close to you as a thing can possibly be.” – Hugh Nibley

Galatians 4:4 “But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law.”

salt lake mormon temple 2Today we’re comparing two different phrases; the ‘fullness of time’, and the ‘meridian of time’. The former comes from God’s word, the latter from the imagination of Joseph Smith.

We want to know why God sent His Son at this exact time, and what impact it had on mankind, then and now.

Let’s take a look at what our Lord says beloved, so we can know more about Him!

Facsimile 2 Side by sideAs a Mormon I remember seeing the Egyptian hieroglyphics in the Pearl of Great Price.  Not knowing what they meant or their purpose I wrote them off as a spooky drawing of the Mormon god I didn’t know.  It wasn’t until I began my own study of the Church that I began wondering what Egyptian hieroglyphics had to do with God’s word.

“Regardless of the color of our skin, of the shape of our eyes, of the language we speak, we all are sons and daughters of God and must reach out to one another with love and concern…Wherever we live we can be friendly neighbors.” – President Gordon B. Hinckley, Ensign, May 2005

“All Are Alike Unto God” is the title of a speech given at BYU by the LDS Apostle Bruce McConkie in August of 1978.  The speech was given as an address to members of the Church to explain the recent change in Church membership requirements.  Yet oddly enough, neither the speech nor the prophecy really changed the heart of Mormonism.
