The recent General Conference proved to be a repeat of previous sessions filled with mixed messages throughout the weekend. Today we’re taking a quick look at three of those talks and comparing what they said to the Bible.
Listeners were told they take pride in how they’re an all-inclusive religion, but it’s the Church’s constitutional right to preach their god forbids them a true salvation. (more…)

General Conference, ‘Love Your Enemies’, October 2020 “An essential part of loving our enemies is to render unto Caesar by keeping the 
laws of our various countries. Though Jesus’s teachings were revolutionary, He did not teach revolution or lawbreaking. He taught a better way. Modern revelation teaches the same:
“Let no man break the laws of the land, for he that keepeth the laws of God hath no need to break the laws of the land.
“Wherefore, be subject to the powers that be” (Doctrine and Covenants 58:21–22).

Amid the present troubling circumstances many are facing, the Savior’s assurance is needed today. “The Lord has special love and concern for His precious daughters. He knows of your wants, your needs, and your fears. The Lord is all powerful. Trust Him.”

Today we’re checking out two talks given at GC; one by Dallin Oaks, the other by David Bednar. As we’ve noted earlier, the main theme for this conference was addressing racism. However, true to form, they couldn’t miss the opportunity to throw in the obligatory false teachings.
4.Proving Oneself for Eternal Progression
General Conference, ‘We Will Prove Them Herewith’, October 2020 “…tests in the school of mortality are a vital element of our eternal progression. Interestingly, however, the word test is not found even one time in the scriptural text of the standard works in English.
Rather, words such as prove, examine, and try are used to describe various patterns of demonstrating appropriately our spiritual knowledge about, understanding of, and devotion to our Heavenly Father’s eternal plan of happiness and our capacity to seek for the blessings of the Savior’s Atonement. …The process of proving ourselves is a fundamental part of Heavenly Father’s great plan of happiness.” — David A.
