Yes, LDS Church Leaders have Led People Astray

Matthew 7:15; “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”
Despite constant reassurances from leaders of the Church they can be trusted, it turns out they’re a picture perfect example of the wolf in sheep’s clothing!
The LDS Church makes it a priority to remind people their self-ordained prophets would never lead people astray. The following is just one of several examples anyone can find in their writings/teaching manuals. We found our example in the LDS Student Manual, The Living Prophet, the President of the Church –
“You keep your eye upon him whom the Lord called, and I say to you now, knowing that I stand in this position, you don’t need to worry about the President of the Church ever leading people astray, because the Lord would remove him out of his place before He would ever allow that to happen” (The Teachings of Harold B. Lee, ed. Clyde J. Williams [1996], 533).

General Conference, October 1960, p. 34; “The day of the Lamanites is nigh. For years they have been growing delightsome, and they are now becoming white and delightsome, as they were promised. …At one meeting a father and mother and their sixteen-year-old daughter were present, the little member girl – sixteen – sitting between the dark father and mother, and it was evident she was several shades lighter than her parents…These young members of the Church are changing to whiteness and delightsomeness.” – Spencer W. Teachings of The Presidents of the Church, Spencer W. Kimball, pp. 26-27; “This is the message of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. …
When Adam intentionally and wisely partook of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, he brought upon all of us, his descendants, two deaths—the physical or “mortal death,” and the spiritual death or the banishment from the presence of the Lord. In God’s divine plan, provision was made for a redeemer to break the bonds of death and… Jesus of Nazareth was the one who, before the world was created, was chosen to come to earth to perform this service…” [emp. mine]

Mormons Obligated to Fill Missions Calling

John 14:6; “Jesus saith unto him: I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
New Era, ‘Questions and Answers,’ February 1971;
“As I pray about a mission, the Lord says to me not to go.
“When should a young man not go on a mission?”
Answer/Elder Gordon B. Hinckley
In the first place a man does not initiate his mission call. In light of this, it is not his prerogative to choose or not to choose to go on a mission. His bishop and stake president recommend him, and he may state his desire to them. The call comes from the President of the Church, and the young man may then accept or reject it.”
Conference Report, October 1974, pp. 116-117; “…One obsession of this Church and all its members is missionary work… …if you receive a call from the Lord through your bishop and stake presidency, it is your privilege, but also your obligation, to fill that calling…Every boy in every country in all the world who has been baptized and received the Holy Ghost will have the responsibility of bearing the message of the gospel to the people of the world.” – Spencer W. Adultery: The Sin Next to Murder, Virtue Worth More Than Life
Posted in False Prophecies of the Mormon Church, tagged false prophet, Miracle of Forgiveness, Spencer W. Kimball, virtue more important than life on 12/01/2016| Leave a Comment »
Hebrews 4:16; “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
In Spencer W. Kimball’s 1969 publication titled ‘The Miracle of Forgiveness’, he ranked sexual sin as ‘one of the most diabolical crimes’ known to mankind.
Digging himself deeper into the cesspool of lies, he also pleaded with the younger generations to protect their chastity, stating it was more important than life. We’ve listed a few of the most outrageous quotes from his book to determine if they’re theologically sound. Check it out!
The Miracle of Forgiveness [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1969], p. 61-64; “Next to Murder in Seriousness … The enormity of this sin is underlined by numerous scriptures, and particularly by Alma’s words to his immoral son:
Know ye not, my son, that these things are an abomination in the sight of the Lord; yea, most abominable above all sins save it be the shedding of innocent blood or denying the Holy Ghost? (Al. 39:5.) … David O. McKay has pleaded:
“… Your virtue is worth more than your life. Please, young folk, preserve your virtue even if you lose your lives. … Nearly always those who lose their chastity first partake of those things that excite passions within them or lower their resistance and becloud their minds. … those things which, if indulged in, are worse than death itself. There is no true Latter-day Saint who would not rather bury a son or a daughter than to have him or her lose his or her chastity-realizing that chastity is of more value than anything else in all the world.” – Spencer W. Kimball

Today were taking a look at the adamant claims of a Mormon prophet, and the stand he took on perpetuating the stories from the Book of Mormon. One has to wonder what the Church would say about this Ensign article, published 45 years ago.
Ensign, “Of Royal Blood,” July 1971; “With pride I tell those who come to my office that a Lamanite is a descendant of one Lehi who left Jerusalem six hundred years before Christ and with his family crossed the mighty deep and landed in America. And Lehi and his family became the ancestors of all of the Indian and Mestizo tribes in North and South and Central America and in the islands of the sea, for in the middle of their history there were those who left America in ships of their making and went to the islands of the sea. Not until the revelations of Joseph Smith, bringing forth the Book of Mormon, did anyone know of these migrants. It was not known before, but now the question is fully answered. Now the Lamanites number about sixty million; they are in all of the states of America from Tierra del Fuego all the way up to Point Barrows, and they are in nearly all the islands of the sea from Hawaii South to New Zealand … The descendants of this mighty people were called Indians by Columbus in 1492 when he found them here. The term Lamanite includes all Indians and Indian mixtures, such as Polynesians, the Guatemalans, the Peruvians, as well as the Sioux, the Apache, the Mohawk, the Navajo, and others. It is a large group of great people.” – Spencer W. Kimball

“…Aware of the promises made by the prophets and presidents of the Church who have preceded us that at some time, in God’s eternal plan, all of our brethren who are worthy may receive the priesthood…He has heard our prayers, and by revelation has confirmed that the long-promised day has come…”
James 1:22, 2:8-9; “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.”

Gospel Principles, Chapter 19, pp. 107-113; “Our sincere sorrow should lead us to forsake (stop) sinning. It does little good to admit that we have sinned if we do not stop doing the evil thing. If we truly repent of our sins, we will do them no more. If a person has stolen, he will steal no more. If he has lied, he will lie no more. If he committed adultery, he will stop this evil practice.” “To make our repentance complete we must always keep the commandments of the Lord (see D&C 1:32). A person is not fully repentant who does not pay his tithes or does not keep the Sabbath day holy or refuses to obey the Word of Wisdom. He is not repentant if he does not sustain the authorities of the Church …” – Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 200 cited by Spencer W. Kimball

Ensign, ‘The Role of Righteous Women,’ November 1979; “Finally, my dear sisters, may I suggest to you something that has not been said before or at least in quite this way. Much of the major growth that is coming to the Church in the last days will come because many of the good women of the world will be drawn to the Church in large numbers. This will happen to the degree that the women of the Church reflect righteousness and articulateness in their lives and to the degree that the women of the church are seen as distinct and different–in happy ways–from the women of the world.” – President Spencer W. Kimball
