August 24 – Luke 11:33; “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.”

Temple Ceremonies Part 2 Garden Endowment Ceremony
The Garden
THE GODS WITHDRAW
ELOHIM: Adam, we have created for you this earth, and have placed upon it all kinds of vegetation and animal life. We have commanded all these to multiply in their own sphere and element.
We give you dominion over all these things and make you, Adam, lord over the whole earth and all things on the face thereof. We now command you to multiply and replenish the earth, that you may have joy and rejoicing in your posterity.

The Initiatory Ceremony
Pre-1990
The ceremony script here is what took place in the temple before 1990. We’ll be posting the scripts for the latest revision later.
The Initiatory Ceremony is a preliminary four stage ritual performed before the Endowment Ceremonies in the temple. These ceremonies are performed on an individual basis while the Endowment Ceremonies are performed within a group setting of typically twenty patrons.

Mormon Dilemma 51
Who is King?
D&C 38:21-22; “But, verily I say unto you that in time ye shall have no king nor ruler, for I will be your king and watch over you. 22 Wherefore, hear my voice and follow me, and you shall be a free people, and ye shall have no laws but my laws when I come, for I am your lawgiver, and what can stay my hand?”
Times & Seasons 5:618; “…to build up the kingdom upon the foundation that the prophet Joseph has laid, who still holds the keys of this last dispensation, and will hold them to all eternity, as a king and priest unto the most high God, ministering in heaven, on earth, or among the spirits of the departed dead, as seemeth good to him who sent him.”

People ask me all the time why I left the Mormon Church and so I finally put an article on the site and blog answering this question.
Then I got to thinking more deeply about this question and I have to say that while my reasons wouldn’t necessarily change, there was one definitive reason that caused me to really start investigating my faith. I’ve shared this story in my testimony, but thought I’d share it here to start a conversation amongst our readers! And yep, it’s because I love hearing how God works!

August 19 – Hebrews 9:15-16; “And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.”

The Cross and The Atonement
Today we’re looking at the Cross…at Calvary. For the Christian, it’s the place where we find peace, as we know this is where God gave His Only Son to die in our stead.
A sacrifice had to be made to pay for our sin, and God, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, paid that price for us because of His love. For God so loved the world… John 3:16

The Saints of Polygamy
This article comes from our regular website and was posted in 2008.
Tonight it is with both joy and a heavy heart that I write to you. I pray that you, as our faithful partner with Life After Ministries, will continue to hold us up in your prayers and especially pray for all of those caught in the lies of Mormonism.
Something to think about…
Posted in Uncategorized, tagged bible, false doctrine, false gospel, false prophets, Jesus, mormonism, salvation, thinking has been done on 08/17/2011| 1 Comment »
I received an e-mail not long ago from a Mormon asking me why I had to bring up so many negative things about the Church. He then told me that I was inciting riot behavior in suggesting that members of the Church should think for themselves…
So this got me to thinking…is it okay to encourage members of the Mormon Church to think for themselves or should they do what their leaders have told them to do with unwavering abandon? The monthly magazine Improvement Era said this in the June 1945 issue written for the teachers in the Church;
When our leaders speak, the thinking has been done. When they propose a plan—it is God’s plan. When they point the way, there is no other which is safe. When they give direction, it should mark the end of controversy. God works in no other way. To think otherwise, without immediate repentance, may cost one his faith, may destroy his testimony, and leave him a stranger to the kingdom of God.
So tell us what you think! Should the Mormon think for themselves or just trust the prophet is right and go along with everything they say?

Mormon Dilemma 47
This time we’re looking at the contradiction between:
D&C 124:29-30; “For a baptismal font there is not upon the earth, that they, my saints, may be baptized for those who are dead—For this ordinance belongeth to my house, and cannot be acceptable to me, only in the days of your poverty, wherein ye are not able to build a house unto me.”
and
2 Nephi 9:38; “And, in fine, wo unto all those who die in their sins; for they shall return to God, and behold his face, and remain in their sins.”
Along with:
1 Cor. 15:29; “Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?”

For this dilemma we’re looking at the story of Ishmael. When I became a Christian, surprised and shocked couldn’t really fit the description of my reaction to what I was learning. I don’t know what it’s like to be a “normal” person who came to Christ and learning the truth about God so all I can refer to is my experience as a member of the LDS Church.
Learning the truth about people like Abraham, Ishmael, Jeremiah and not to mention Jesus was mind-blowing to say the least and that’s why I keep praying these dilemmas or discrepancies will shed some light on the minds of the Mormon people.
This selection is from our 3rd installment of Demonic and Ungodly Names in the Book of Mormon.
Don’t forget to pray!

Demonic Names in the Book of Mormon Part 1
For the next week or so we’re going to take a look at some various teachings in the Church that cause dilemmas for its members. We’re beginning with their sacred cannon – the Book of Mormon. Here is part of our article on the Demonic and Ungodly Names in the Book of Mormon.

Man Gets Nearer to God by the Book of Mormon
Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 194; “Perfection of the Book of Mormon – Sunday, 28.—I spent the day in the council with the Twelve Apostles at the house of President Young, conversing with them upon a variety of subjects. Brother Joseph Fielding was present, having been absent four years on a mission to England. I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book. (November 28, 1841.) —DHC 4:461.”
