January 22 — Doctrines and Covenants 3:2-3 “For God doth not walk in crooked paths, neither doth he turn to the right hand nor to the left, neither doth he vary from that which he hath said, therefore his paths are straight, and his course is one eternal round. 3 Remember, remember that it is not the work of God that is frustrated, but the work of men”. – July 1828 Continue Reading »

Dictionary.com defines the word fact as “something said to be true or supposed to have happened”.

January 21 — All are Alike Unto God, August 18, 1978 “Forget everything that I have said, or what President Brigham Young or President George Q. Cannon or whomsoever has said in days past that is contrary to the present revelation. We spoke with a limited understanding and without the light and knowledge that now has come into the world.

We get our truth and our light line upon line and precept upon precept. We have now had added a new flood of intelligence and light on this particular subject, and it erases all the darkness and all the views and all the thoughts of the past. They don’t matter any more.

It doesn’t make a particle of difference what anybody ever said about the Negro matter before the first day of June of this year, 1978. It is a new day and a new arrangement, and the Lord has now given the revelation that sheds light out into the world on this subject.” — Bruce McConkie Continue Reading »

History of the Church, 4:461 (28 November 1841); “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” – Joseph Smith, Jr. [emp. added]

BoM January 19 – Just like anyone else, whenever I read the Church has made changes to the Book of Mormon, I think about Smith’s claim noted above. If it was so perfect, why did it need a revision? And so it was, when I came across two noteworthy items in the Sunstone Magazine.

The Church’s revision about the Lamanites will always be a prime example of why the Book of Mormon isn’t true. Anytime you make excuses for and ultimately change the entire narrative for why your book is inspired of God, you’ve created a huge credibility problem for yourself.

January 18 — Liahona and Ensign, November 2012 “The keys Elijah restored to Joseph Smith permit our hearts to be bound and each of us linked to those of our ancestors who are waiting for our help. Through our efforts in holy temples here on earth using the authority delegated by the Savior, our progenitors receive the saving ordinances that allow them to enjoy eternal happiness.” —Richard G. Scott, “The Joy of Redeeming the Dead” Continue Reading »

‘…And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.’ Acts 11:26

January 17 — Liahona and Ensign, November 2012 “A Christian has faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the literal Son of God, sent by His Father to suffer for our sins in the supreme act of love we know as the Atonement.

Through the scriptures and the witness of Joseph Smith, we know that God, our Heavenly Father, has a glorified and perfected body of flesh and bone. Jesus Christ is His Only Begotten Son in the flesh. The Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit whose work is to testify of the Father and the Son. The Godhead is three separate and distinct beings, unified in purpose.

With these doctrines as the foundation of our faith, can there be any doubt or disputation that we, as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are Christian?” — Robert D. Hales, Being a More Christian Christian Continue Reading »

January 16 — Originally, this article was published in 2011. While looking through our websites, I noticed it had mysteriously become attached to another article, ‘Joseph Smith, Nephi and Moroni’. Yikes!

Long story short, we’re cleaning house, as they say! Today we’re republishing ‘Joseph and Lucifer Compared’ as its own little self in hopes it’ll clear up any confusion.

This article, ‘Joseph and Lucifer Compared’, was one of the first things I discovered after making the exodus from my beloved heritage. Personally, the discovery was a heartbreaker and sent chills down my spine as I continued reading the evidence of what Smith had done. It became another proverbial nail in the coffin as I began seeing Mormonism for what it really was and is: demonically inspired evil.

Again, I want to make it abundantly clear we don’t publish these things to be sensationalistic. Mormonism doesn’t need any showmanship added to its menagerie of doctrinal shockers. It does more than an ample job of that all on its own. Rather, we publish these things to inform both Mormons, and Christians alike. We pray it’ll open the eyes of those who don’t know and help my people come to their senses the good Lord instilled them with. Here we go! Continue Reading »

The SeerThe Seer, “The Pre-existence of Man,” Vol. 1, No. 7, July, 1853, p. 98 “Spirits, though pure and innocent, before they entered the body, would become contaminated by entering a fallen tabernacle; not contaminated by their own sins, but by their connection with a body brought into the world by the fall, earthly, fallen, imperfect, and corrupt in its nature.  A spirit, having entered such a tabernacle, though it may commit no personal sin, is unfit to return again into the presence of a holy Being. . .” – Orson Pratt, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

January 14 —Answers to Gospel Questions 3:138 -141 “…we learn that Noah is Gabriel and that he came to the Prophet Joseph Smith in his calling as an Elias and restored the keys of the dispensation in which the Lord made covenant with Abraham and his posterity after him to the latest generations.

The term Elias means forerunner. Noah, Elijah, John the Baptist and John the Revelator have been referred to as Elias in scripture, though the references to Elijah by this name are mistranslated. (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 340; D. & C. 77:9, 14.) Continue Reading »

January 12 — Gospel Truth, p. 167 “The power which controls universe. What is that power? It is the Priesthood of the Son of God. It is the power by which all things were created and are held in their place. Shall I startle you when I say that our Father himself controls the universe and occupies His exalted station because of the Priesthood? Whether it is startling or not, it is nevertheless true. Our Eternal Father is the creator of all things through the power of the everlasting Priesthood—that Priesthood which has been bestowed upon and exercised by the servants of God in our day.  January 11 – Alpha. This is the first letter of the Greek alphabet which originates from the Hebrew. There’s no contraction of this because it’s simply a letter, and neither are there any derivatives. The same can be said for the last letter of the Greek alphabet, ‘Omega’.  Revelation 1:8 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” Continue Reading »

January 10 — That Ye May Not Be Deceived, pp. 9-10, 13 “…Also, the gospel was not carried to this segregated black group… the Negroes tread the earth with black dishonorable bodies as a judgment of God because at the time of decision in the pre-existence they were faint-hearted and exhibited an infirmity of purpose – they were not valiant in the cause of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, they were entitled to no better earthly lineage than that of the first early murderer, Cain. They were to be the ‘servant of servants.’ They were to be segregated. No effort was made to carry the gospel to them as a people. …The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has no call to carry the Gospel to the Negro, and it does not do so.” – Elder Arthur M. Richardson, 1955 Continue Reading »

January 9 — No Pre-existence in Book of Mormon

Jacob 4:9 “For behold, by the power of his word man came upon the face of the earth, which earth was created by the power of his word. Wherefore, if God being able to speak and the world was, and to speak and man was created, O then, why not able to command the earth, or the workmanship of his hands upon the face of it, according to his will and pleasure?” Continue Reading »

“If I covet any place on earth but the dust at the foot of the Cross, then I know nothing of Calvary love.” — Amy Carmichael

January 8 — The first Sunday I attended a Mormon Church I wore my cross necklace. I didn’t think anything of it because, I believed this was a Christian church. There should be no problem with a Christian wearing a cross necklace in a Christian church, right?

It didn’t take long to find out how wrong I was. After the service. I noticed people staring at me and talking about me. I heard one lady whisper to her friend, “maybe she doesn’t know?”. I asked my husband and his mom about why I was getting those reactions and they said it was probably because of my necklace. Continue Reading »

January 7 — Essential Brigham Young, “When I Contemplate the Subject of Salvation”, A Sermon Delivered on 12 February, 1854, p 84 “When I was young, a Methodist priest whom no person would fellowship because he taught so many new things in his preaching, made a remark that I believe is true. Says he, “Evil is inverted good.” Now for Methodists to talk such things was indeed strange; they did not know that the Devil is as eternal as God, and coequal with Him in this respect. Evil is inverted good. If you receive the Priesthood, and make an evil use of it, it will make devils of you.” Continue Reading »

January 6 — Moses: Man of Miracles, p. 8 “When did civilization start? It began with Adam, the first man, unusually well educated because the Lord was his teacher. (Moses 6.) It is admitted that there was retrogression among some of his family who apostatized and then left his well-ordered society…

Thus they became the cavemen and other early degenerates who some scholars now mistakenly believe were the first men. All of this differs but little from situations found among certain aborigines who live today in some parts of the world. Continue Reading »

January 4 — After Jeffery R. Holland died on December 27, 2025, I saw some quotes from him shared on a Facebook page I follow but couldn’t find their original sources.

The First quote says —

“We are not saved in our sins, but from our sins. Salvation comes only through obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel.”

I would have liked to have found the reference to this quote to give Holland credit for it, but I was able to find quote by another Mormon General Authority who said the same thing. Continue Reading »
