Today we have two questions concerning a passage in the Book of Mormon text.
Mosiah 13:34; “Have they not said that God himself should come down among the children of men, and take upon him the form of man, and go forth in mighty power upon the face of the earth?”

February 3 – Mormon husbands hold keys of salvation. Despite what the Church says, Christians find salvation in no one but Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 reads; “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”.

Ephesians 5:31; “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”
Since its inception the Mormon Church has been all over the board on the subject of polygamy. From 1831 when Joseph Smith was secretly practicing polygamy, to the day they publicly denounced it in April 1904, they’ve been a poster child of ambiguity.
As of today, the Church’s curriculum is a menagerie of just such a system. The teacher’s manual for kids in the LDS Seminary program is a classic example of how they purposefully trick students into believing God commanded Smith to practice polygamy, and at the same time teach that polygamy isn’t mandatory. They’ve twisted historical facts to fit their own agenda in a biblical parody. The only one not laughing is God.
Their incessant contradictions is the prime reason they don’t believe the Bible is translated correctly. If they did, scriptures like Ephesians 5:31 wouldn’t be an issue for them!

While looking over the Church’s website, LDS.org, I’ve noticed a recurring theme in the last few months. Not that they haven’t pounded their message of following the prophet before, but as of late, it seems to be with a new urgency of sorts.
One of the main teaching manuals they use even today is ‘Prophets, True to the Faith’. We decided to have a look at this to find out what it says, and what, if any insights, it contains to lead someone into having a stronger walk and relationship with the Lord.
Before we look at the three quotes pulled from the teaching manual, I’d like to share a contrasting visual to ponder.

Genesis 2:8 “And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.”
A few weeks ago, the LDS Church hosted a history and doctrine symposium on three revelations Joseph Smith supposedly received in early Mormonism. For the sake of brevity, we’re looking at just a couple of things Alexander Baugh said during his presentation. Today we’re looking at a passage of scripture the Mormon Church has zeroed in on, and made a doctrine from half a line in one verse of scripture. We’ll look at what the Church has taught, and compare it with what the Bible really means when it said, ‘Jesus was made perfect’.
The length of the sermon we’re looking at today was extraordinarily long, therefore, we’ll only be looking at one small subject from Mr. Taylor’s teaching today. Journal of Discourses 4:260; “I will venture to say that if Jesus Christ were now to pass through the most pious countries in Christendom with a train of women,. such as used to follow him, fondling about him, combing his hair, anointing him with precious ointment, washing his feet with tears, and wiping them with the hair of their heads and unmarried, or even married, he would be mobbed, tarred, and feathered, and rode, not on an ass, but on a rail. What did the old Prophet mean when he said (speaking of Christ), “He shall see his seed, prolong his days, &c.” Did Jesus consider it necessary to fulfil every righteous command or requirement of his Father? He most certainly did. This he witnessed by submitting to baptism under the hands of John. “Thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness,” said he. Was it God’s commandment to man, in the beginning, to multiply and replenish the earth? None can deny this, neither that it was a righteous command; for upon an obedience to this, depended the perpetuity of our race. Did Christ come to destroy the law or the Prophets, or to fulfil them? He came to fulfil. Did he multiply, and did he see his seed? Did he honour his Father’s law by complying with it, or did he not? Discourses of Brigham Young, p. 62; “Should you receive a vision or revelation from the Almighty, one that the Lord gave you concerning yourselves, or this people, but which you are not to reveal on account of your not being the proper person, or because it ought not to be known by the people at present, you should shut it up and seal it as close, and lock it as tight as heaven is to you, and make it as secret as the grave. The two quotes above are the focus of what we’re looking at today. One tells of an awful scenario in Israel’s future, and the other is a lie.

Question: “In Luke 23:44, it states that at the crucifixion of Jesus there was a period of darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour, but in the Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi 8:22-23, it states that a three-day period of darkness came upon the land at the death of Jesus. Which of the two accounts is considered accurate, or are they both accurate? If so, how could this be?”

Romans 8:5; “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.”
How many times each day are we living ‘according to the flesh’? Do you stop to think about every action, and thought, you have on any given day? I know over the years I’ve become more alert to my reactions and even thoughts, to peripheral events around me. Our verse above gave me pause the other day when I came across the section of Pratt’s book.
Looking over many of the doctrines in Mormon canon, I was struck by the numerous times this phrase (according to the flesh) presented itself, so today we’re taking a look at just one example of how the Church has used it. I have to wonder if any of the Mormon people pick up on what Paul said in Romans…
As a heads up – this excerpt today is rather offensive. If you have a disposition that can’t stomach strong heresy, you might want to stop reading at this point.
Anyone or anything that disagrees with the LDS Church is considered anti-Mormon. Yet, the Church considers themselves to be a Christian church.
