Temples; Who can enter

Encyclopedia of Mormonism, pg. 1446; Temples have always been revered and reserved as sacred ground. Anciently, the prophet ezekiel [sic] declared, “Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary” (Ezek. 44:9). The Prophet Joseph Smith prayed that “[the temple] may be sanctified and consecrated to be holy, and that thy holy presence may be continually in this house” (D&C 109:12), “and that no unclean thing shall be permitted to come into thy house to pollute it” (D&C 109:20)…After construction and before a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been dedicated to the Lord, an open house is held and the general public is invited to enter and view the rooms….

Law of Moses and Salvation through Christ

Alma 25:16;Now they did not suppose that salvation came by the law of Moses; but the law of Moses did serve to strengthen their faith in Christ; and thus they did retain a hope through faith, unto eternal salvation, relying upon the spirit of prophecy, which spake of those things to come.” – BC 90

John 5:39-40; Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.  40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

How do you strengthen the Law of Moses through faith in Christ when it’s 90 BC?

September 26 – Hebrews 10:8-9; “Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.”

Organize vs. Create

Why did Mosiah 5:15 say that Christ is “Lord God Omnipotent” who created the earth?  Joseph Smith said that God didn’t create the earth; he just organized it.

Nauvoo and Salt Lake Temples 3

When I think back to the time of being a Mormon the main theme that comes to mind is loneliness.  Walking the grounds of the Salt Lake and Ogden Temples as a young person brought an overwhelming sense of dark loneliness.

I recall my teachers and classmates referring to this as reverence and try as I might, I couldn’t reconcile their analysis with my personal experience of reverencing God while reading His word.

Mormon Priesthood Enlarges the Soul

I’m often asked by Mormon missionaries where I get my authority from to preach the gospel.  What is so sad about this situation is the demeanor these boys come to my home with.  They’ve been taught and now believe, they are the only people with the authority to go on a mission, preach the gospel and decipher who’s telling the truth.

It’s sad to me they don’t read their bibles and when they do they’re not sure which parts are true because again, they’ve been taught and believe, it’s been mistranslated.

So here we are with another installment of looking at the symbols on the Nauvoo and Salt Lake Temples.  One of the reasons we’re doing this as I mentioned is to remind our readers to pray for the Mormons who attended these two temples over their summer holidays.

The Mormon Jesus

Along with our look at the occult symbols on the Mormon temples, we’re going to be taking a look at the Mormon Jesus for the next few days. Who is or was he? What does he represent? Where is this Jesus from? When did he live and why? What is his purpose for the Mormon people?

For the next few days we’re going to be looking at the markings on the Nauvoo and Salt Lake Temples. Now that summer is just about over, this means the pageants at the temples are over with as well.

Our prayers for this is that the Mormons who visited the pageants would think about the markings on the Nauvoo Temple and if they visited SLC this summer to think upon the occultic markings on the Salt Lake Temple.
