March 6 –The first time the followers of Jesus were called Christians is recorded in Acts 11:26b; “And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”

Christianity non-Existent Until Joe Smith
Journal of Discourses 2:192; “Every man that will read the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments, will see that there was an organization in the days of Jesus Christ, a system for the salvation of the children of men. It is laid down plainly and definitely for the inhabitants of the earth to follow. But, if we search throughout the earth at this day, we cannot find a system existing that has scarcely any resemblance to the example laid down by Christ and the Apostles. And I will here say that the persecution, opposition, and oppression that this Church has met with from its first organization, have been in a great measure in consequence of carrying out that very system, those very ordinances, that same Gospel which Jesus Christ and his Apostles established in their day, and which cost the most of them their lives.” – Wilford Woodruff, Salt Lake City, February 25, 1855
Philippians 1:6; “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Apostasy…not Exactly
Answers to Gospel Questions 2:45; “Moreover, the Lord, of necessity, has kept authorized servants on the earth bearing the priesthood from the days of Adam to the present time; in fact, there has never been a moment from the beginning that there were not men on the earth holding the Holy Priesthood. (Moses 5:59.) Even in the days of apostasy, and apostasy has occurred several times, the Lord never surrendered this earth and permitted Satan to have complete control. Even when the great apostasy occurred following the death of the Savior’s apostles, our Father in heaven held control and had duly authorized servants on the earth to direct his work and to check, to some extent at least, the ravages and corruption of the evil powers. These servants were not permitted to organize the Church nor to officiate in the ordinances of the gospel, but they did check the advances of evil as far as the Lord deemed it necessary.” – Joseph Fielding Smith, jr.

What Makes a Christian Church Christian?
Journal of Discourses 18:44; “If we can find a church that has the gifts and the signs spoken of by the New Testament, we can find true Christian Church; but if we can’t find such, we have no reason to believe that there is such a Church on the earth. “But,” says one, “we call ourselves Christians.” That is a very easy matter; but calling yourselves Christians or Christian churches does not make you such.” – Orson Pratt, Salt Lake City, July 11, 1875

Christians are Pagans
Orson Pratt, Journal of Discourses 14:346; “This class of men, calling themselves Christian, uniting with the various forms of the pagan religion, adopting many of their ceremonies and institutions, became very popular, and finally some of the pagans embraced Christianity and were placed, as it were, upon the throne, and what they termed Christianity became very popular indeed. How long has this order of things existed, this dreadful apostacy, this class of people that pronounced themselves Zion, or Christians, without any of the characteristics of Zion? It has existed for some sixteen or seventeen centuries.” – Salt Lake City, March 10, 1872

Christianity Corrupt as Hell
John Taylor, Journal of Discourses 6:167; “There is not nation now that acknowledges that hand of God; there is not a king, potentate, nor ruler that acknowledges his jurisdiction. We talk about Christianity, but it is a perfect pack of nonsense. Men talk about civilization; but I do not want to say much about that, for I have seen enough of it. Myself and hundreds of the Elders around me have seen its pomp, parade, and glory; and what is it? It is a sounding brass and a tinkling symbol; it is as corrupt as hell; and the Devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work that the Christianity of the nineteenth century.”

No Christian Churches on Earth for Centuries?
Orson Pratt, Journal of Discourses 18:172; “But as there has been no Christian Church on the earth for a great many centuries past, until the present century, the people have lost sight of the pattern that God has given according to which the Christian Church should be established, and they have denominated a great variety of people Christian Churches, because they profess to be. They say, “We have built chapels unto the name of the Lord; we call our Churches Christian Churches, they are called the Church of Christ, St. John’s Church, St. Paul’s Church, St. Peter’s Church, and after others of the ancient Apostles;” and one who had never studied the pattern which God has given of the Christian Church would almost really believe that they are Christian Churches.” – Salt Lake City, March 26, 1876

Christians and the body of Christ
The Mormon Church has gone out of its way in the past two decades to ensure the message gets out they want to be known as a Christian church. The top-notch commercials on television and the appearance of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on various stations are nothing short of brilliant in the advertising venue.

Jesus’ Promises Kept
I’m here today to let everyone know how intoxicated I am by being around those in the body of Christ. I admit that I look at the church of Jesus Christ through rose colored glasses. And I’ll be the first to admit that when I think of the Christian people it’s easy for me to overlook the flaws each denomination and individual person really has. I am more inclined to treat them in the same manner a parent has for a favorite child.

Unequally Yoked
God is so good to us. Just as a loving father takes his children by the hand to cross the street our Father in heaven tells us what is safe in life by providing us with His word. All He ever wants is to love us and in so doing provides the way for us to be living life the way He intended for it to be.
I’ve dealt with families and their children on the issue of being unequally yoked since 1994. It has never ceased to amaze me the lengths a parent will go to in order to keep their child from joining a cult like Mormonism. The panic and grief in their hearts are a heavy burden indeed. When I hear the pain in their voice I always wonder how God must feel. Typically we see 5-6 new families a month with the same problem and the only things that differ in their stories are their names and place of residence. For individual reasons (usually hormonal) the young Christian has decided their Mormon friend isn’t like the other 13 million Mormons in the world. I can assure the reader, nothing could be further from the truth.

Apostates and the Salt Sermon
James 5:9; “Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.”
The purpose of this article is twofold. I pray the Mormons will see how God uses His creation for His own purpose. (Romans 13:1) The other is to show Mormon and non-Mormon alike, how the hatred in the heart of some people rules their own world regardless of what members of the Church say publicly today.

March 19 – Numbers 14:25; “(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley). To morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea”.
_____
Use this verse as a geography lesson for the Mormon. There has never been a river that empties into the Red Sea. It is surrounded by wilderness (desert) only.
_____
1 Nephi 2:8; “And it came to pass that he called the name of the river, Laman, and it emptied into the Red Sea; and the valley was in the borders near the mouth thereof.”

March 17 – 1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us that God is never a God of confusion. “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints”.
_____
The Mormon Church teaches that three of the twelve apostles never died. If this is the case, then why do the Mormons claim the church needed to be restored?
_____
Introduction of 3 Nephi 28. “Each of the twelve is granted his heart’s desire – Three elect to remain on earth until the Lord comes in his glory…They are made immune to death and disaster”.

Please show the Mormon the truth about the Holy Spirit. He actually dwells inside of the believer!
_____
“Now what is this other Comforter? It is no more nor less than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself…that when any man obtains this last Comforter, he will have the personage of Jesus Christ to attend him, or appear unto him from time to time…” Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 151.
