Thought of the Day about Mormonism…and Masonry

I was wondering today about the Masonic emblems on the Mormon temples.  If the Church doesn’t want its members to associate with secret organizations, why are the temples riddled with the satanic markings of Masonry?

September 23 – Psalms 82:6-7; “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.  I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.  But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.”

Why is the earth given to the righteous for an inheritance if the goal is to become a god of your own planet?

D&C 45:58; “And the earth shall be given unto them for an inheritance; and they shall multiply and wax strong, and their children shall grow up without sin unto salvation.

 Pre-mortal life/Pre-existence

The Mormon believes that he/she existed in spirit form before the earth was created and is co-eternal with God Himself.  They also believe they came into existence through a sexual union between their Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother.

Jesus

“We affirm, on the authority of Holy Scripture, that the Being who is known among men as Jesus of Nazareth, and by all who acknowledge His Godhood as Jesus the Christ, existed with the Father prior to birth in the flesh; and that in the preexistent state He was chosen and ordained to be the one and only Savior and Redeemer of the human race.” Jesus the Christ, pg. 6 by James E. Talmage.

Freemasonry and Mormonism

Mormon Doctrine, pg. 528; Although some argue that Joseph Smith borrowed elements of Freemasonry in developing the temple ceremony, the Endowment is more congruous with LDS scriptures (especially the book of Abraham and the Book of Moses) and ancient ritual than with Freemasonry. Latter-day Saints view the ordinances as a revealed restoration of ancient temple ceremony and only incidentally related to Freemasonry. The two are not antithetical, however, nor do they threaten each other…

If this was ordained of God then why did Smith and the Church lie about it?

Part 1, listed here, contains the list of wives and dates they married Smith.  Part 2 contains the references and notes for each wife.

Joseph’s Polygamy Problem

At the time of this statement Smith had 3 wives…

Vol. 3, No. 8 Kirtland, Ohio, May, 1837. Messenger & Advocate, 3:511 (October 1836-Sept. 1837); “That we will have no fellowship whatever with any Elder belonging to the quorums of the Seventies who is guilty of polygamy or any offence of the kind, and who does not in all things conform to the laws of the church contained in the Bible and in the Book of Doctrine and Covenants.

“Joseph Smith’s divine calling as the restorer of plain and precious truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ was for the benefit of all the children of God, past, present, and future. Yet his role as the great latter-day prophet seems to have imbued him with a special concern for the descendants of the peoples of the Book of Mormon, generally known by the Church today as “Lamanites.””  Susan Easton Black and Charles D. Tate, Jr., eds., Joseph Smith: The Prophet, The Man [Provo:BYUReligiousStudiesCenter, 1993], 187.

Mormon Terminology and Grace

2 Nephi 25:23 says; “…for we know that it is by grace we are saved, after all we can do”.

“God’s grace consists in his love, mercy, and condescension toward his children…

Grace is granted to men proportionately as they conform to the standards of personal righteousness that are part of the gospel plan. Thus the saints are commanded to “grow in grace” (D. & C. 50:40), until they are sanctified and justified…Grace is an attribute of perfection possessed by Deity (D. & C. 66:12; 84:102)… The same path to perfection is offered to man.”  Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, 339.

AS GOD IS, MAN MAY BECOME
Dear Mormons, do you know the the nature of God? Can you put into your words what God is really like to you?  Odds are if we asked you to describe the nature of God your answer would be what you have long been taught to say; “God is a God of Flesh and Bone.”

Making Mormon Spirit Babies

From Ed;

Polygamous Mormon god Mormons believe that when one becomes a god over his own planet and gets his many polygamous goddess wives they must reproduce spirit children having sex the same way they did on earth [remember, they are physical beings].  But in order to populate a planet like earth, the god-man has a big job cut out for him in the reproducing area. March 18 – Luke 11:33 says; “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light”.

Word study!  The Mormon Church has their temples to utter secret oaths to their god.  They will tell you they are sacred not secret, but they won’t tell you what those oaths are.  That’s what makes them secret!

_____

1 Nephi 20:16 even says that their god doesn’t speak in secret.  “Come ye near unto me; I have not spoken in secret; from the beginning, from the time that it was declared have I spoken; and the Lord God, and his Spirit hath sent me”.

February 28 – Matthew 16:13-16; “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?  And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptists: some, Elias; and other, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.  He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?  And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”.

There have been and will continue to be many who call themselves “The Christ” or the only path to salvation.  In today’s age, we see Mohammed, the Jehovah Witnesses, and here we have the Mormon Church.  Make sure you know whom Jesus Christ is and watch out for the wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Jedidiah M. Grant said in Journal of Discourses, Vol. 1. pp. 345-46; “The grand reason of the burst of public sentiment in anathemas upon Christ and his disciples, causing his crucifixion, was evidently based upon polygamy, according to the testimony of the philosophers who rose in that age.  A belief in the doctrine of a plurality of wives caused the persecution of Jesus and his followers.  We might almost think that they [Jesus and his followers] were Mormons.”
